NFL picks and predictions, Ravens vs. Dolphins 2014:7-5 teams battle for AFC playoffs

that is sorta surprising considering our struggling run D over the last few games. Here's hoping we improve our run D starting this Sunday! I'm also happy the game is at Miami. should give us the advantage.

Jamison Hensley: The matchups suggest the Ravens will win this game. The Ravens should run the ball against the Dolphins' defense, and their physical front seven will make it tough for Miami's read-option. But there's a stat that stands out from the rest: The Ravens are 0-3 on the road this season against teams with winning records at the time. In those losses (Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh), quarterback Joe Flacco has thrown two touchdowns and four interceptions for a woeful 68.8 passer rating. It won't get any easier at Miami, where the Dolphins have allowed the third-fewest points at home this season (90). Dolphins 20, Ravens 16

James Walker: The Dolphins have allowed 478 yards on the ground the past two weeks, and the Ravens are the NFL's fifth-best rushing team, led by tailback Justin Forsett. Initially, I was leaning toward Baltimore, but Haloti Ngata's suspension Thursday swayed my thinking. The Pro Bowl defensive tackle was a huge advantage for Baltimore going against Miami's undersized center, Samson Satele. But without Ngata plugging the middle and pushing the pocket, it should open up more opportunities for the Dolphins' offense. Dolphins 23, Ravens 20

7 of the 13 ESPN 'Experts' pick Baltimore

Dolphins 24-20 - This is a gem on the Week 14 slate, and one of the more difficult games to predict. (Of course, if I get it wrong, Ravens fans will hammer my Twitter feed. If I get it right, all quiet on the tweep front.) So, let's say this: As much as any game, this is any man's ballgame. ... Even-steven. ... Six of one, half-dozen of the other. ... Matchy matchy. ... OK, you get the point. Baltimore has fared OK on the road, going 3-3 this season. The Dolphins are just 3-2 at home, but both of the clubs they lost to -- Kansas City and Green Bay -- are pretty darn good. Miami's front seven must do a better job in run support than it did against Chris Johnson this past Monday night. The Ravens' O-line has really improved in run blocking this year, as evidenced by Justin Forsett's 1,009 yards (compiled at a healthy 5.6 yards per pop). On the other side of the ball, though, Baltimore just took a serious hit with the Haloti Ngata suspension. #BALvsMIA

I actually feel a bit better more picks against us strangely.

For what it's worth, which is nothing, Cris Carter has the best prediction record of anyone at ESPN and he chose Miami. Tom Jackson has the 2nd most correct picks and he also went with Miami.

And Joyner, who has the 3rd best prediction record, picked Miami as well.

Before the injury to Ngata i had to pick Baltimore. But that injury is huge. Miami can run now with him out. Our D must come to play but Miami 27-20 is my pick
