NFL Playoff & Scheduling restructuring idea

What about eliminating divisions and just having 2 conferences (AFC,NFC) and having each AFC team play every AFC team once and every NFC team play every NFC team once and then the top six best records from each conference are in the playoffs. Every team would then have the same schedule eliminating soft schedules and the best teams would be in the playoffs eliminating weak division winners and making for more explosive playoffs. Thoughts? Feel free to throw out some other ideas that you guys like that you think would make for better football.

Pretty cool idea, but realistically it will never happen barring something monumental.

That would shorten the season to fifteen games. But you could add a Los Angeles team and someone else and be set.

It will never happen. Personally, I would like to see a 3rd wild card team and have them play the second seed. The bye should only be for the first place team.
