Hows this for a policy drug abuse yur done, uncalled for antics done, crimes or murders your done. Does anyone else feel like the Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Onterio Smith , Ray Lewis, Leonard Little, Ricky Willliams etc. are making fools out of us and the league by using their millions to pretty much do anything they want. If they only had one shot I bet they'd get their head on straight. What happend to the class such as Marino, Montana ,Elway? Anyone else support the one time and yur done policy?

Why are Marino, Elway, and Montana being brought into this?

Another ignorant person speking of our savior RW like he knows what hes talking about.:shakeno: Ignorant means uninformed by the way it's not an insult from your post I figured I needed to define. Ricky was being killed by our POS regime and retired. He never failed any test before us so he could either smoke a seed bareing plant that god put on the earth to be used by the way or pop pills and end up like Earl Cambell popping pills that are more addictive and worse for you than weed and not being able to move when he's 45.

So you are saying that no one deserves a second chance? Or third? Sorry but I think the current policy is in place to support people when they need it. If there was no second chance half the players in the NFL would be "done". Than you would have a mediocre league.

It would never work like that.Owens and Moss are 2 of the best players in the NFL and there talent dont come along everyday.People will go to a game just to see either of them play.If the NFL booted them after 1 mistake they would lose alot of money.4 of those six players u named are in or have been in the top 10 in jersey sales at one time or another.

I think we should ban baseball then. They have no respect for the game anymore and all of them are on roids who are breaking records. I mean come on do they think were so stupid as fans that when we quit watching fakeball I mean baseball over the strike Sosa and Mcguire filled the stands up with there who can pump the most roids and hit a tighter wound little ball more. By the way did anyone notice how many balls were pitched 70 mph over the middle of the plate at the end? It didn't end thare though now it is all coming out and the league must have been right about fans because they still fill up the fakeball stadiums. Its sad but true.

if that was the policy then we never would have had marino in the first place, then what? the difference between then and now is that you didnt hear about a lot of these things then and nowadays the media jumps all over it. the popularity of the nfl has grown so much since then, there wasnt message boards, espn wasnt as popular etc. etc. back then, steroids were rampant, cocaine was the drug of choice and what a player did off the field in college wasnt public knowledge. hearsay, rumors, but not front page news. ricky smoked weed, marino did coke you tell me, which is worse?
problems in the locker room were handled "in-house" and werent played out through media outlets. and one more thing dont throw ricky in with the rest of those guys ricky has earned back the respect of his teammates and coaches and deserves the same from fans:dolphins:

I bet you have done something wrong sometime or you wouldnt be human, so how it would feel to not been able to get a job beacuse of that single mistake? Dont you have the avility to re-think things and learn? I bet you do as well.

so let me get this straight your saying players should be able to do anything thing they want and we shouldnt question if they are good at football. so maybe we should pay college players and not have g.p.a. requirements

I am not sayinig I have never did anything wrong but my point is if anyone on this board did anything wrong they would be prosecuted for the crime so don't you think it is wrong that they get away with it and get amillion more dollars on top of it as a reward

The college players make billions for their schools so yes they should get paid.

we have a legal system in this country, and if they break a law they should be punished by a court of law. a teacher convicted of drunk driving, would not lose their job, so why should a player in the nfl. if they are becoming a detriment to their team(moss, t.o.) then it needs to be determined in-house wether that player is worth keeping or not. in the case of moss and t.o. both left their respective teams.

What about in Rickys situation where an organization should be held accountable also? What would you do about a staff trying to kill person or cause perminant harm by putting him at risk more than anyone in history. The NFL is the only league that don't gauruntee money and when a player is suspended or fined they pay more than you think obviously.

amillion more dollars on top of it as a reward

what reward  . the millions of dollars you speak of is a salary not a reward.
people keep using this analogy and i dont get it. they are being rewarded for
the jerseys they sell and the plays they make not the transgression they commited. many of the guys you listed have also been fined by the nfl so rewarding them millions is not what is happening.
