Comment: To barely win in Buffalo isn't a great start for the Dolphins. (Clayton)

Comment: It wasn't pretty in Buffalo, but most of their games won't be. The defense had a nice game, especially against the run. This week, it's Adrian Peterson they have to stop.

That's about what I expected out of the Dolphins in Buffalo -- squeaking out a low-scoring win and doing little to impress us in the process. Now I want to see if Miami's defense can do as good a job against Adrian Peterson as it did against Bills rookie running back C.J. Spiller.

I think Miami's defense might be a little better than first thought. It looks to be more physical and faster on that side of the ball than last season. But they likely will have to score more than 15 points on the road this week to beat Minnesota.

You never spit on any win in the NFL, but one shouldn't try to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse either. The Dolphins offense was not particularly impressive during Sunday's victory over the Bills, and Chad Henne didn't do anything to make Bill Parcells seem out of line for registering his disappointment in the starting quarterback. Next week will bring more answers because the jury's still out over here. --JA

Miami earned a win and completely dominated Buffalo last week. But you can’t be impressed that they so thoroughly outplayed the Bills but only won by five points. Their running game was stifled in the second half and they should find the sledding even tougher this week against Minnesota. Miami was awful proud of its defensive effort against the Bills last week. But Buffalo is a horror show on offense, so we’ll see what Miami is all about this week in Minnesota. Miami missed at least two pick-six opportunities last week. They have to capitalize on those situations if they want to reach the next level. Promising rookie defensive lineman Jared Odrick will miss a month. The Dolphins are 4-12-2 ATS in their last 18 September games.

The Dolphins sneaked past the Bills, but both their offense and defense need to show more to be able to maintain and/or regain ground on this list. in week two.

The running game wasn’t fantastic, but it was solid. Decent debut for the newly-acquired Brandon Marshall and Chad Henne could be something special this year.

I always say style points don't matter much to me. Even still, the Dolphins should have put the Bills away much earlier last Sunday.

Rank: 15

I try to post these rankings every week on Friday.

so much negativity out there, but a division win on the road is never easy to come by, no matter who the opponent. look at the chargers against the chiefs, no one expected that. 49ers were favored to beat the seahawks with all their playmakers. dallas couldnt take down the skins even though they are being predicted as superbowl contenders and to run the division. eli threw like 3 picks against carolina. the bears barely ( i dont even consider they really did) beat the lions. the jets couldnt do anything against the ravens.. and likewise the ravens offense didnt look like much against the jets.. if not for all the penalties.. who knows. the saints and vikings had a very low scoring game considering the caliber of the teams. the bucs beat the browns. jaguars beat the broncos similarly. heck houston skunked the colts. the falcons went into pittsburg and look what happened. the eagles packers game was intense

dont really need to go on, its week one, and no team is even looking too great, minus the texans i think. we came out with a win, we havent won in buffalo in a long time. theres still chemistry to be had on our team and kinks to work out. i think we won that game fine and am not worried. everyone says we should have beat the bills by so much more. look at their running game, look at their dbacks. we could easily lose to them in buffalo, as could any of the other teams in our division. just gotta keep churning the gears and move forward. no team plays perfectly. its all about preparing for the next game, strategically and physically. correcting flaws from week to week

Not that it matters, but if (I would say when, but I don't want to anger any of the "realists" on FH :D ) we win at Minnesota; and are still not ranked in the top 10-12 in the majority of power rankings next week, then I will wonder why these so called experts have jobs.

The first few weeks are always difficult to properly place teams. Some teams are not as good as they should have been (09 Titans) and some teams take everyone by suprise (09 Broncos).

So everyone expecting us to blow ou Buffalo may be getting ahead of themselves. You just never know how a teams gels. I am happy just to have a opening day win for a change.

I hope that we make a statent against the vikings.
