One of the things QB's need to learn is to lie with thier eyes so defenses dont key off on where they are looking. It makes me wonder why they dont wear visors to hide thier eyes especially from the safties. Is there some sort of rule that dosnt allow them to? or does it impare thier vision too much? Does anyone know?

Yea u mean those like huge sunglasses in the helmet. I wondered that too.

One reason QBs don't wear darken visors is the need for their teammates to be able to look into their eyes and feel confident in his ability to get the job done.

Another reason, in regards to the safeties, is that it won't make that big a difference. DBs can rarely see a QBs eyes from their position on the field and rely more on head movement, the QBs head moving from one side of the field to the other to get an indication of which direction the QB is throwing the ball.

i dont know never realy thought about it, i dont think safteties can really see there eyes from that far maybe just see the direction in which there looking u know? And I think Mike Vick wears a visor doesnt he? I may be wrong but i thought he did

Vick has been known to wear a visor but it's not darkened.

Clear visors can be worn by anyone. (phillip rivers wore one his first year) Visors with colors or mirrored finishes need special approval by the nfl by suplying them with a medical reason to allow the player to wear them.

Most players will claim light sensativity...

I was just curious because I would think thats the one postion that want to keep thier eyes hidden

Beck has the ability to look off the safety. I think he did that most excellently in one of the mini-camps for a TD, no?

Its harder to see the field and QB have to have the best vision out of anyone out there
