NFL Story of the Year: Miami Dolphins Grow Up

This season is become one of the most memorable season in Miami history. Sparano has these guys really buying into his system and it is showing. The fact that we had barely any penalties and were able to convert on 3rd and long several times really tell me something about this team. Good teams get better and better as the season go on and Im sue we will play better ball, bad teams play their best ball in Sept and then choke.

great read...we are getting better, but now we have to be consistent and play that way...

Don't drink t kool-aid! Guy's don't get to high, reamin on an even plain. I'm as happy bas anyone we're wining, but keep in mind if things go south it will be tougher to deal with. Just keep in mind we thoguht 6-8 wins would be a great season for us. The more we win the tougher teams will play us. I think many teams still look at us as the 1-15 Dolphins. I just know whats gonna happen if we start losing. I'm just doing a little damage control.

That's right ftp. We just need to keep a losing mentality so the losses won't hurt as much.:rolleyes2:

Sorry, nope....I'm going to enjoy it and dream as much as I can! Do you think that before the SB in 1984 fans were telling themselves 'not to drink the Kool-aid' so it wouldn't hurt as bad if we lost?

Hell NO! You don't hold your emotions in just so a loss will sting less!

besides, this team hit rock bottom last year. If I can deal with the pain of a 1-15 season, I can deal with the pain of back-to-back losses to the Seahawks and Raiders. Yea, it would suck, but I'm not going to hold back my excitement now because things MIGHT go bad in the future.

Good article. But did he really call Denver's defense one of the best?

That's what I thought at first, but I think we're interpreting that wrong.

The way he words it makes it sound like that's what he's saying. I think it was meant to mean one of the fastest, although not the best.

btw, great article. Honestly, probably my favorite article of the season so far.

You really need to learn how to read what people write.

I liked the poll in the article. Mystery box indeed...

"Hold on now, Lois. A boat's a boat, but the mystery box could be anything ... even a boat. You know how much we've always wanted a boat. We'll take the box!"
- Peter Griffin

I did read what you wrote. You told everybody not to get too high first of all.

As if a loss to the Seahawks is going to harder to take if we expect the win. At 4-4, a loss is going to hurt no matter what your feelings are prior to the game.

The only way to make a loss not sting as much: Go into the game expecting to loss, so that when it happens, you aren't surprised. Our 10th, 11th, and 12th loss last year didn't sting much because I kinda figured we would lose.

I do get where you were going with it. Some people on here will overreact and start calling for people's heads if we lose. Those people are going to react the same way no matter how high they are on the Fins today though.

Some people?? If we start losing again this site will be overrun with "we suck", "fire coach Sparano", "Start Chad Henne","Parcells has lost his edge" just to name a few of the lovely hate threads that will consume this board. I'm simply reminding people that this thing is a process and not to get to high on the good and not to low on the bad. No one ever said don't be happy because we're winning and no one ever said don't hope the winning continues.

I'm simply reminding everyone we're not that far removed from 1-15 and anything good that comes from this season should be respected and anything bad should be understood. We still don't have the players we need to play in the systems we're running, so winning right now is a bonus not a given. By all means be happy, just don't turn doom and gloom if things don't continue to be so rosey.

this article sends chills up my spine. ive been waiting for this for a long time

Oh. Well why didn't you just say that then? lol, jk.

Yea, I know how the board overreacts to the losses. And yes, I said SOME people. Not everybody here goes into complete breakdown mode. There are a few rational people, you aren't the only one.
