But, technically they haven't picked. And I believe the rule states that ONLY the team with the #1 selection in the first round can talk contract with players.

this is right. Only the 1st team can negotiate before the draft.

if there are RB's worthy of a starting job, they'd be taken before RD. 3. Edwards may help feeley, but without a RB, we're one dimensional and defenses can pick us apart. i've got no major objections to Braylon, i just think Ronnie Brown is a better idea.

I really don't want to see us draft Rodgers.

i agree, if we cant trade down and take smith overall at #2 i cant really agrue, but otherwise i want ronnie brown.

Are you kidding man? With news as huge as this, you would think that there would be other sources reporting it. It dosn't sound too legit if its only from one source. No need to flip out on him about that, it was a legit question.
