Sitting here watching total access and they are giving Tannehill props for leading and helping other Dolphins learn the playbook in his first practice. Only one practice but damn it is nice to hear a good report out of Miami for once in the last decade.

Not Luck, not RGIII but Tanehill getting the biggest shout out by the media.

Let's hope it is the first of many positive reports Dolphins fans.

i saw it too. now more so called "experts" think he should start day one. funny how much a week changes peoples minds

I am sure the playbook is pretty similar to what they did at Texas A&M, but they probably have a lot more options and sets. I looked at RG3 at Baylor and Luck at Stanford and they often had those huge goofy sideline signs or some other gimmick to call plays. Tannehill I think is already ahead of these guys in terms of using terminology that is used in the pro's and the west coast offense. I think Tannehill also is probably ahead of Moore and Garrard in that he already knows the system, he just hasn't played against pro teams, but he should be just fine.

No kidding...rarely has someone climbed the draft boards and become a media darling when really doing so little...19 starts, 15 picks as senior, team that was projected top 10 at beginning of season finished 7-6, projected to be a 2nd rounder when season ended, broke foot unable to play in senior bowl or combine becomes #8 pick and is being promoted to start over a QB that finished the season 6-3.

Hope he is the real deal. Been a long time since Miami had a legit QB.

Hello there Debbie Downer.

Ive said it before, say it again. What he did in college is almost irrelevant now. Why? Because he has reggie bush and Lamar miller and charles clay, Fasano, Bess, Hartline and the new WR's to work with. In college, you are at the will of how good is your recruiting? In the NFL, its how much talent is around you that is established.

One could make the argument that with Marshall gone, that it wont work. But I say its May and Ireland said he is not done at WR. I also say that with T-hill knowing the playbook and has worked in it, that he indeed has a leg up because he worked it week in week out. Not many rookie QB's can say that and he has the coach he worked with! That is a comfort level that helps your confidence right from the get go. It is being displayed already.

That is why starting from the get go is not such a bad idea. If we are going to be 6-10 again like alot of you say, then why not get his feet wet today!?

he's definitely got the tools - i especially like the intelligence he shows with examples like this and in the Gruden QB camp episode... let's trust that Philbin et. al. know what they're doing and will start him when they think he's ready.

Let's wait for Miller to have 3 100 yard games before we start crowning the goddamn guy come on now.

Daniel Thomas had 100+ yards his first game, remember
