2008 trade deadline is october 14th.any chance we move beck (no value) or ricky before then.there's a couple of teams in QB crisis mode and the eagles westbrook now has 2 broken ribs. the eagles are built to win NOW.the D is awesome and mcnabb is in his twilight.think they would they consider moving a couple of their young backup linemen like max jean gilles or winston justice or perhaps a safety i thought we should have drafted sean considine (injured) to put ricky in the backfield with mcnabb.we all know the fans wanted RW first time around.thoughts?

trading ricky completely destroys our offense with out ricky our wildcat play would be now where near as effective, ricky has made so many key blocks for ronnie he should be buying him a beer after every game. also rickys presences throws off other teams because they dont know if ronnie or ricky is going to be doing the damage

ricky's still a great back and his price is very right even after the extension. also i stuck by him thru the whole suspension thing when many fans wanted him booted for no comp. at all but i say if we could land 2 of the above listed i'd still pull the trigger.don't get too giddy over the wins.we are STILL rebuilding.and yes ronnie's durability is a legit concern but if it was me and the price is right....i'm just thinking longterm.

Philly doesnt need anything we have to offer. They drafted a QB when we took Beck (Kolb I think), and they have plenty of RBs.

That said, there may be a few teams interested in some depth. NE should probably go out and get a QB (I hope they dont), Hasselbeck looks like he is on his last leg in Seattle AND they need receivers, the Bucs may want a WR, The Saints have been losing players every week, they may want a WR or TE, the lists go on.....

Thing is, our WR corp probably couldnt make it on those teams practice squads, and our 3rd QB has almost no experience, teams may as well start a rookie.

What do we have to trade? Not much.

The guys that are playing well, we would be foolish to trade right now. Porter, Holliday, Roth? Ummm, I think they are here to stay for a while.

The question I am asking is, "Who are we looking to trade for? If there is anyone we want bad enough."

i think the eagles would sign shaun alexander before trading for ricky IMO

We wont make any significant moves before the deadline.....I would love Roy Williams, but I dont see it happening.

The Eagles have a good backup running back in Buckhalter. I doubt they are looking to trade for a 31 year old back in Ricky. In this day in the NFL you need 2 solid RB. We have that in Ricky and Ronnie. If we traded away Ricky then we would have nobody to replace him with. Parcells, and this coaching staff loves Ricky that's why the extended his contract, and besides trades during the season are not that common, eventhough we traded Chambers during last season.

Westbrook has 2 broken ribs, but the Eagles have a (what should be) gimme game for them and then a bye week. Westbrook should be back by then, playing with pain but still back. They really don't need to pull a trade for Ricky.

I would not trade either! Do we feel secure enough with Cobbs if Ronnie gets hurt? As far as beck goes I don't know if I'm willing to throw Henne to the wolves yet.

the eagles wont go after ricky they have buckhalter and westbrook is sayings hes going to play this week( i dont think he will but they have a bye) plus the guy is always banged up and guts it out...i live in philly and i haven't heard anything mentioned about the eagles going out and getting anyone let alone ricky williams...plus i think alot teams are scared to go after ricky after all his antics in the past

I only see two possible trades as the deadline looms. Trading for Roy Williams, or trading John Beck.

Some will say that Beck has no trade value, but we were able to pull off a trade at the deadline in 05' that sent AJ Feeley to the Chargers. Now what would we get back? Probably a 6th or 7th round pick.

Thanks for posting buddy. I knew it was sometime soon (trade deadline).
I would love to move John Beck and that's all I'm willing to part with at this point. He MIGHT be worth a 6 or 7 round choice? Maybe I'm wrong but he really has no value as you posted. But maybe someone is willing to part with a late choice for him?

I think we may have ruined him last year by throwing him into the inferno like we did.
