I was watching nfl network eaerlier, and terrel davis was asked which of the first 6 picks would have the biggest and most immediate impact. sine he was a rb, the other commentators were surprised when he said jake long. he said nobody would really notice the impavt (sine he's on the o-line), but that he'd have a huge impact on every phase of the offense. he went out of his way to say jake would have a bigger impact than run dmc!

he better... he's the number 1 pick!!

That's a safe pick given all the changes this TEAM has gone through. This is not last years Dolphins.

Hopefully he'll make the biggest impact on Gholston's face when the jets come to town.

I 'd say that is a fair assumption on Terrell's part, considering Jake is the only rookie that seems destined to start on day one.

I'll bet you that the Jets start Gholston week 1 so we get all the Michigan and Ohio State fans to boost ratings for the game. These marketing people have a heavy hand in how things work during certain games.

Terrell Davis said it? Jake could very well have a huge impact(though I think it will take a year or 2 to really make an impact) but when TD says something it isn't something to crow about.

I think we'll see alot of Gholston week 1 but I doubt he starts. I expext they will play him strictly in passing situations to start before he eventually becomes an every down player.

We agree... it will take a few years to see these players in their prime..., as nyjunc says these are still Rooks...

It doesn't take long for a LT to make an impact...look what J. Thomas did for the Browns last year...and for Gholston to be a part time player...seems alittle less filling for the 6th pick in the draft...it may be that Gholston may take a year or two to learn to be an OLB...in the NFL.

Only DE to get a sack on Jake Long was Gholston... twice. Are you sure you want to see that match up?

I'm just so happy that Parcells and company came to their senses and drafted Jake Long and didn't take Gholston.. V Gholston isn't going to be nearly as good as his draft status.

With his below average hips, and questioning his true passion and love for the game of football, he's just going to be an average player in this league.
