NFL Network posted the 17 finalists for the DE’s. I believe 7 of these will make the top 100 list. I guess Jason Taylor isn’t a top 17 DE of all time? And Zach Thomas not a top 25 LB. I really feel like JT got snubbed at not even being a finalist. So of the top 100 what Dolphins do we think will make it? Marino, Csonka, Stephenson, Little, Shula, ?

They have Von Miller as a LB but Demarcus Ware as a DE?

Ware made his name as a 3-4 OLB in Dallas. Of course winning the SB with Denver in the 3-4 system helped too.

Seems like the NFL does it's best to cram some old-timers in there even if they don't belong, trying to keep them and the history relevant. There are some deserving there but many I have never even heard of. How much of an impact did they actually have...

Jason Taylor is also on the Non-offensive TD list at 9 and that's tied for 22nd overall as a DE. Let that sink in, there isn't another LB, DE or DL anywhere to found near him on that list. He's tied with DBs, S and return specialists. For reference Eric Metcalf has 12, Ed Reed and Charles Woodson have 13 and Prime Time and Hester are at 19 and 20 respectively with Hester #1 overall.

Watt had 3 20+ sack season and 3 DPOY. Easily the better player.

Sure if he could stay healthy. Doubt he makes it past 130 sacks. Guys missed 32 of his last 64 games. Going to end up like Calvin, freak when he played but ultimately think he’ll end up with a short career. Only one of his last 4 seasons has he played 8 games. You have to be great and have a long career if you want to end up as an all time great or be named Barry Sanders.

I get it’s 100 years or whatever but the game they played in the 20’s and 30’s was barely football. Not to mention all awards are boosted since you had like 8 teams so anyone that was good was making all pro every year.
