NFL’s Top 100 list. DE Finalists

Sure if he could stay healthy. Doubt he makes it past 130 sacks. Guys missed 32 of his last 64 games. Going to end up like Calvin, freak when he played but ultimately think he’ll end up with a short career. Only one of his last 4 seasons has he played 8 games. You have to be great and have a long career if you want to end up as an all time great or be named Barry Sanders.

Being named Barry Sanders is a fantastic title. He was #2 on this said list last week for RBs.

The only people who think Jason Taylor belongs on that list are dolphins fans

I understand their hype around here but ZT and even JT aren't considered best ever at their respective positions.

Both were fantastic....but not best ever fantastic.

I’ll go to my grave saying it to anyone that will listen...

Zach Thomas > Brian Urlacher

They also already did running backs and Csonka wasn’t on it. I hope they do FB position, but the might not since it is not a part of the modern game with my generation and younger being to dumb to understand the difference.

I get it’s 100 years or whatever but the game they played in the 20’s and 30’s was barely football. Not to mention all awards are boosted since you had like 8 teams so anyone that was good was making all pro every year.

Curious what fans from the '20's and '30's would say about the game today. They would probably say, "that isn't football".

When was Jason Taylor a defensive player of the year? Jj watt did it what 3 times? Hell he might have even been the nfl mvp period a couple years there.

As a younger Dolphins fan, Zac Thomas and Jason Taylor were two of my favorite players growing up. That being said I get why they aren’t on the list. They never even made it to a SB/Championship. A lot of the guys on the lists played on dominate teams back in the day. J.J. Watt is kind of an exception...if he could manage to stay on the field he’d have a chance to be the best player on that list one day. When you have an INT, 4 FF, 5 fumble recoveries, 1 defensive TD, 20.5 sacks and 39 tackles for a loss in a season you probably deserve to win MVP.

JT should be up there given the sack totals, turnovers forced and TDs.

random but Luke Keuchly? So many great LBs to play the game. I love him but not on top 17- not even close.

Seems like the NFL does it's best to cram some old-timers in there even if they don't belong, trying to keep them and the history relevant. There are some deserving there but many I have never even heard of. How much of an impact did they actually have...

As I get older I actually think more "old-timers" belong on these list than are selected. No Bill Bergey or Randy Gradishar on the lb list? No Alan Page on the de list? Page was a dominate beast for the Vikings.
