"Still, there is good news: ESPN's Chris Mortensen has seven coaches and GMs he consults on quarterback prospects. They've had an excellent track record of projecting greatness with him over the past decade. And most of them told him that Beck is not only better than Quinn, but that Beck is ready to be elite faster than any other quarterback in this draft."

What gets me is that the end of this article says that Cameron has people who know what they're doing that judge QB's (including cameron himself) and they all say that Beck is going to be great.

So what did these people say about Green?

The entire article complains that Culpepper is better then Green and bashes Cam's decision making skill, but at the end praises it for John Beck. Le Batard is usually hit or miss on his articles, and this time he is def a miss.

John Beck will be an awesome QB some day. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he were ready to start some time this season. I can't wait to see it!

When you see a kid throwing a laser 70 yards bomb, with alot of accuracy, I know we have a super talented QB.

if cameron hit with green and fail with beck thier is alway the nfl draft?? so why are people making a big deal out of it...even if brady is good the browns suck. they will be picking in top 10 again next yr....

If we had kept Cpep, and he played, and he had a mediocre year, then next year we would be reading the same articles.

Beck is going to be a fine QB for us, IMO, Trent Green may be watching Beck start by Nov.

Beck also is the key in this weeks QB moves. The coaching staff if paving the way for the road to BECK. Green for 2 or 3 years? PERFECT... and when that happens... Ladies and Gentlemen... John BECK!

Boy that sure would be nice if that is how it plays out. It will make Cam and Randy look brilliant.

@ www.footballoutsiders.com david lewin a guest writerwrote an article about projecting college qbs. how they would fare in the pros. actually the whole article is in pro football prospectus 2006 . anyhow he wrote about young, cutler, and leinert last year.the system projects college qbs that are drafted in the 1st 2 rds. only. it also includes starts and comp. pct. he replied to the article he wrote about the 3 mentioned above in the reply thread thah since 1997 that any qb that was drafted in the 1st 2 rds that started 35 or more games and comp. at least 60% of his passes has not been a failure. beck started 39 games and comp. 62% of his passes. there will be a new article in pro football prospectus 2007 coming out this summer.

You mean Christ Mortensen, not Cameron.

But I agree LeBatard misses on this article, but for his horrible writing. Overweight Ronnie Brown, good god.
