Hiya...
Have to say that for a pre-season game, that was a pretty good one. Had a couple of two minute drills, some nice plays, and a bunch of penalties.
I wasn't too impressed with Feeley though....but, its basically the first time I have seen him. We blitzed a lot for some reason, which I dont think is something that is normally done in pre-season games...whether this means we are gonna blitz more this year is still up in the air.
Urlacher had that one hit on Feeley that was probably the bigges hit of the game.
Ferrotte, however, was really impressive. I think he did well against the Bears starters, and even better against the 2nd and 3rd stringers....We have a good defense, but practically no depth so its important not to have any big injuries. Your 3rd string guy played pretty good too..
Why isnt Ferrotte a potential starter? He seems like he is more comfortable AND he was looking off the defenders...something I dont think I saw with Feeley.
Both teams didnt have their number one pick in their, so obviously you cant really compare the RB situation...but I have to say, that Ricky Williams interview at halftime REALLY shed light on his lack of heart. You can tell he is only there for the money. I hope he gets a lot of playing time and you can unload his sorry *** to another team. No way does he deserve to be playing on your team after what he did.
One thing puzzled me. I didnt see anything from Jason Taylor. Yea, its pre season but wasnt he moved into a different position? Our O-Line is, well, not the best but a speedy guy like Taylor should have been all over the place, as well as Zach. Just seemed like a lot of people looked lost or maybe the defense line was not getting any penetration.
David Boston looked pretty well, and while I firmly believe he is a major roid user, might as well use him till his legs go. Booker played fine, but I think you guys need a fast receiver to open up the field...maybe there is one, but for whatever reason he just didnt get open.
Ferrotte was the one who really stood out, I think he should be considered for the starting role.
I was shocked by the passing yards the Bears put up. Rex played pretty good, Hutchinson is too slow, but damm...Orton played great, though against 3rd stringers....obviously the dolphin secondary needs some major attention.
Thats about it....glad no one got seriously hurt, though I have to admit I was pretty stoked about that Urlacher hit.
Lets hope both teams RBs can get signed and in camp where they belong..
