Ginn’s remarkable versatility would also offer tremendous value and add a lethal dimension to the Dolphins’ passing game. He’s shown great timing and opens his hips, displays fluid motion and swings his body exceptionally well. In addition, his burst is enough of a threat where non-offensive line intensive plays like flea-flickers and reverses become a real threat. He could play under center in specially designed plays and is nimble enough to evade tacklers up the middle. In addition, by placing him at the Z flanker, the Dolphins could then have WR Chris Chambers return to his more natural position at the Y slot. With Chambers at X and Ginn at the Z on the other end, Chambers can then run a deep drag route, dragging the safety coverage while Ginn runs a fly route to the end zone. Whoever is open in that scenario is a threat to score a touchdown every time, wherever they are on the field. With the dual threat of Chambers and Ginn on the field on any given down, the Dolphins could then throw to a possession receiver like Derek Hagan or Marty Booker in red zone situations. With the explosive Ginn on board, the Dolphins offense suddenly becomes very potent.
