A center released by Texans for cap space. Could he help us?
Would it allow us to draft a guard and not a center?

Intriguing, brother is a pro bowl caliber guard, and he looks solid in fact making some coin. Wonder what’s up

I seem to recall I liked him coming out but why would a team like Houston, who are not really that close to the cap and highly likely to be in rebuild mode want to release him ? They save $6mill but incur a cap penalty of $2mill, doesn't seem worth it to me, if he was any good.

Forget getting a new center. If Karras comes cheap he is the answer. This line needs continuity.

There are going to be quite a few Centers available, plus this is a good year for Centers in the draft... if we stick with Karras and his lack of push... we are making a short, fat mistake.

Definitely need an upgrade at center. Would love to keep Karras around but we need a mauler

Karras deserves a "good value" deal ------ not sure that translates to "cheap" in your definition
but he earned another ticket with us IMO. Not great but definitely a certified Pro. Pay accordingly...

You think karras wants a value meal? What if he wants the triple quarter pounder meal extra size?

Unsure how that translates in dollar$ but I think Karras would like to stay and not get delusional
about his real world value. He's a quality Pro and rather exemplary in terms of "team" and leadership etc.
That said any contract has to be "fair" for both sides otherwise we need to look for alternatives.
I'm pretty sure he's intelligent enough to grasp the dynamics and agree to such terms...

Personally I’d like to get him back for a slightly above average veteran deal. No clue what that number is to be honest. Maybe 5-6 mil per year?

But I’d also love to draft a guy on day two and not have to keep him in a year or two
