he does not want to play for us, flat out, he refused to sign with miami for another year. Lance is gone, as much as it may hurt, he is gone. Sorry Dude

I would love to have Lance back but i dont see it going down
Does anyone remember the lapses Lance had for us in coverage last year? He made some big plays for us, but gave up some big ones too. I trust Saban to put the best players on the field.

i think the members of the forum are a little naive to what is going on with our defense. it is no longer as strong as it was a few years back. dont get me wrong, we have a GREAT shot at the SB, but thats because of our newly regunivated offense. our secondary needs some major work, and may frustrate us at times next year.

Oh, and BTW Allen got burned on one play in that preseason game, and it was against a 6-6 WR who runs a 4.4. Champ Bailey is supposedly the best CB in the NFL and I've seen him get burned by lesser talents than Matt Jones.

I liked Shulters but the Dolphins have made no effort to re-sign him which would indicate he doesnt fit into our plans.

his MO coming over was giving up the big play and not being a good tackler. well he gave up a big play first game with us. I didnt get to see the game nor did i call the play, so i have no clue whether Jason Allen was suppose to help over the top. But that has still been a problem of his.
like i said though, im not going to put that play on him really. Ill get to watch the rest of the games, and ill see what i think from there. but hes not exactly coming over with a great resume'. so some people will be worried about him, myself included.
We drafted Allen to take over Lance's spot. While he is bound to make a few rookie mistakes, we're trying to solidify that position for years and Saban thinks Allen is the guy. I don't mind Tillman at the other safety spot and Yeremiah Bell is a heck of a playmaker at the extra position, if nothing else he'll make some phenomenal safety blitzes that will force mistakes.
The guys who say our problems are at corner are spot on. I'm not sold on any of our top guys as impact players at that position, even Daniels.
