..If we dont play our best offensive game of the year we will lose this game by 10 or more points! Atlanta has maybe the best front 7 in the game along with one of the best Cb's in the league...our OL will need to play above themselves this week thats for sure!!

As for the Defense, I think we can play alot of man vs ATL with their lack of a big play WR, and Vick's inability to throw down field...

We need to win the battles upfront on both sides of the ball, and that will be a tough task.

If we win this game I believe we have a decent shot at the division title considering we have yet to play N.E., but if we lose were no better than the other 2 bums in the East (NY/Buff)...big test!

I agree with you. But the part about our corners playing man is enough to make you say, "YIKES!!!" And that's putting it lightly. :)

Seriously, our best chance is to keep Vick from running and making him beat us through the air. We need to pound little Warrick Dunn and wear him out. The biggest thing we could do to win this game is to have some nice sustained drives to keep our defense fresh and their offense of the field. Our D will be chasing Vick alot so they will need some rest. That said, if our d-line plays as well against Atlanta as they did N.O. it will be a huge boost for the team.

Way to state the obvious, you need to bring your A game to win football games almost all of the time and we have a shot. Atlantas run defense isnt that good and their pass defense is average. If we take advantage of their weaknesses we will win with ease.

I noticed yesterday that linehan gets it now with running the ball. That is the key against Atlanta. Look, Atlanta is a good team, but keep in mind, they are very beatable at home.

Here is why:

1) Linehan seems to get it now with running Ronnie/Ricky. I believe somebody has posted Atlantas Run D stats. Very doable for us and the Oline looked good yesterday aside from a few whiffs.
2) The penalties are kept at bay like yesterday.
3) We hit a deep one early like the one to Boston yesterday.
4) Keep the chains moving, even if we only get 3 points out of it, it is a win of the battle. It keeps the defense rested, which is our best way to have a strong D.
5) The defensive scheme was obviously much more in tune with what works and we actaully dropped back into coverage more, which is very much needed.

Really!? So you think we brought our 'A' game vs the Saints??? Defensively yes as a whole NO!! My point is this is the best team we have played all year, so we need the best effort out of our linemen than we have had to date.

No way we win this game with crappy gus and his inaccurate arm.

You must be Heather Mitts. You are hot. :eyebrow:

Even though in my opinion this is an easy game for the fins, many in the media will potray this victory as an upset. All we have to do is stop the run and we will win. Stopping the run will be easy due to the simple fact Mia D-line > Atl O-line in natural ability (bigger and stronger.). Once we accomplish that the Falcons are not consistent at throwing the ball (Mike Vick has never thrown for 300, he is an inferior passer.). I would say Vick does not throw for more than 180 passing yards and with the run stopped the Offense should be able to control the game with Ricky and Ronnie.

the best defense is a good offense run it, run it, run it................

keep atlanta off the field with the run and we can win this game!!!!!:fire:

Man, dropping those games to the Jets and Bills (in this case quite literally) never stung so bad.

We could be 5-3 right now!!!!

Ok, I'm over it, what's this thread about? Oh, right.

I think our A game translates to Gus hitting the open receivers for the big gains. If we could just hit those, we'd give our D some cushion and would be able to push this game to the wire. I could imagine us fighting for a win. What I don't see is Miami in any way comfortably winning this one.

Vick scares me, Dunn scares me, their running stats scare me, heck, even their backup QB worries me. Gus, Chambers, Randy, and the R&R Express along with it's ragged band of O-liners better step it up this Sunday and scare the Falcons if we dont want to go in limping against the Pats the folowing week.

It seems our slim playoff hopes lie heavily in the results of the next two weeks.
