No debate: Dolphins better than at this time in '08

The Dolphins are a better team today than they were in June 2008, and anyone who doesn't share that opinion is wrong.

Don't argue with me if you don't agree. Argue with tough-guy coach Tony Sparano, whose word is gospel in South Florida after the turnaround he engineered last season.

''It's like night and day,'' Sparano said during a break in this weekend's mandatory minicamp. ``I mean it really is. Last year at this time -- in minicamp, in OTAs -- you were watching the film and it sometimes didn't really look much like football out there.''

The Dolphins are a better team now than a year ago and could be a better team as the regular season unfolds.

But because their opposition also will be better, the Dolphins could show poorer results.

The Dolphins might play better in 2009 and show signs of heading in the right direction but still take a step back.

I agree we have a better team now, but at the same time we taking on more difficult teams. NO and PITT are two teams we better bring are A game, but I still think dolphins are going to surprise everyone even us. I accept what you say with poorer results, but I think Tony, bill, jeff, and some of the players know that better then anyone. And with this group of people I see them doing everything in their power to stop that. Win or lose any game i sure you will hear a head coach or player from the other team seeing the success growing.

Had a similar issue with one of my posts earlier today.
 
we are definitely a better team and yes we do have a tougher schedule but those other teams better bring their A game because this fins will be ready.

The phins better bring their A game b/c other teams will be taking them more seriously this year. The dolphins could very well be better but win 3-4 less games b/c the sched should be tougher, Brady will be playing and teams will be gunning for them which they weren't a year ago.

On a side note we are tougher, bigger, stronger, faster, and smarter than last year so chad might not have the 2nd highest QB rating the NFL but ill take a top 10. If we can actually have a consistent running game and pash rush everything will take care of itself. We have shown we can play with anyone on any given date, but will we show up week and week out? Atleast the games should be exciting to watch.

You haven't shown you can play w/ anyone, Baltimore crushed yout wice and they wound up being an elite AFC team, Arizona made the SB and they crushed you. You beat one playoff team last year(SD at home) and they finished 8-8. You have to prove you can play w/ the top teams to take that next step.
 
Well I'm saying throughout our drought, we always seemed to beat the good teams(not all) and lose to the less than average teams. This past year we take care of business, lose to the ravens because of john mcclain and a couple lucky pick 6's. So the year that we actually take care of teams that we 'should' beat and throw on a couple extra, we can't contend with teams like Indy? Who lost to the chargers in the playoffs!? Or New England? Honestly I can say the only problems we truthfully had on Defense was defending the Spread Offense, if we can fix that we will be elite. Arizona ran some schimdig of it on us and New England only runs the ball with 4 wr sets.

I think any reasonable fan of the Dolphins understands that this is a real possibility. I believe we'll be physically imposing this season; everyone knows that we weren't in '08. If we're able to become the type of physical force that the FO and coaching staff is shooting for, we'll be fine. If not, we'll be looking at developing players for 2010.

What has changed to make you more physical?

so THATS why we won the division last year. teams weren't gunning for us despite the spanking we gave belichiks defense in his house game 3. was that your idea or rex ryans??
 
I dont know about some of you, but NyJunc seems to be talking a whole bunch of Crap on the Dolphins lately, until the Jets actually accomplish something unlike the 2008 AFC East Champions Dolphins, you maybe should tone down your rhetoric just a bit.
