Please forgive me if this has been addressed but I noticed something in the game yesterday. I did not get to see the game (I live near Pittsburgh, do not have NFL Sunday Ticket or NFL Network to watch the replay) but in highlights, I noticed the Phins had a fourth and goal with about 7 mins left in the fourth quarter. They elected not to kick a field goal. They also failed to convert the 4th down and ended up with no points on that drive. If they had kicked, the score would have been 20-10. After their late TD, the score would have been 20-17 as they set up for the drive at the end. Instead of the pass to the back corner of the endzone, they could have kicked a FG to force overtime.
Why didn;t Sporano kick the FG on the 4th and goal? Was there a problem with Carpenter or was another reason given?
