The Dolphins are "vehemently" denying that they want to trade Mike Wallace, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

How does JLC keep a job?

Damn shame the Fins FO actually has to respond to media because JLC is lying his ass off.

:bobdole:

No team is trading for that contract, not even sure where anyone gets that idea.

You really never know with this stuff.

Maybe Wallace's own agent is leaking false info because Wallace wants out.

Yup. His contract basically makes it impossible to trade him, which is why most of us called BS in the first place. Now it's possible that a team like the Raiders is looking to make a splash, but who else would even have the cap room?

I would entertain it if a team in the top 10 trades a first so we can grab Evans or Watkins. I think both will be better then Wallace but that will never happen.

even the raiders are not that stupid. So trade a pick and pay Mike Wallace premium money, they could have traded for Jackson who made less or signed him when he got released.

Wallace gets paid entirely too much for what he brings to the team. I have heard from more than one source that Wallace doesn't like Philbin and the way that he directs the team? Take it for what it's worth but he's from New Orleans and I know quite a few of his family members and friends.

Why would we even want to trade him? I realize we might not have gotten our money's worth from him last year, but:
1)sometimes a QB and a WR need a little more time to click, especially on deep balls, especially when the blocking is so poor.
2)you can't coach that kind of speed.
3)Wallace did not suck or have injury issues. We could have gotten more out of him, but he wasn't a major problem, he didn't drop tons of passes, he was good, not great.
4)You can't coach that kind of speed.
5)It would just create yet another hole to fill. Wallace is basically, if I understood correctly, on a three year deal with Miami(until it becomes financially prudent to cut him). Give him some time to gel and work with RT.
6)He's the only veteran receiver coming back from last year who really produced and is not rehabbing.
7)You can't coach that kind of speed.

But do you think you could coach that kind of speed into anothe receiver?

shouldn't we have learned from the Brandon marshall trade (both times)??? you dont' trade Wallace w/o bringing in a replacement. If we were going to it is FAR more likely we would've signed Jackson, then traded Wallace.

He definitely dropped a lot of passes including game winners. We can do better but we are stuck with him

His numbers were respectable last year, they could have been much better.

It is not all on Ryan either, he does a lot of slowing down and speeding up when he goes deep.
