With out saying any-thing Bad.....We don`t need them!
RUN The Ball and Play Ball Control to run time off the clock....
The late reverse fumble could have cost us the game...
The Ronnie Brown pass at the goal line was just a waste.....he could have run it IN....
My .02 cents...

From the Miami Hearld:Questionable playcalling by Miami helped keep the outcome in doubt until the final moments.

Trick plays work, it was just a bad time to call one. Leading in the 4th trying to run out the clock. Ronnie just screwed it up

Ronnie's pass to CC was a TD, but the sorry refs did not rule that he was pushed out. He scores if he doesn't get pushed out of the end zone.

Trick plays are Mularkey's specialty. Well, really the only thing he can come up with. He can't call ordinary plays but he can design trick plays that usually work. That sort of style would make him an assistant to an OC rather than the OC title itself.

This game was won despite the atrocious playcalling. You guys can complain about the refs all you want but why put ourselves in the position in the first place? Who the hell calls a ****ing halfback pass to the back of the endzone on 2nd and goal when you're inside the 5 and Ronnie had been gashing the Chiefs run D the entire drive?

With the exception of the reverse in the 4th quarter I think all of the trick plays were fine. The HB Pass in the endzone was a great call if Ronnie hangs onto the ball for another half a second. The Throwback pass worked great as we all seen, and the reverse keeps the D honest for the most part. You have to keep the trick plays coming to keep the defense on its toes and never let them get settled in.

I really hate how we run the end around reverse to chambers EVERY game, thats a great play once in a while to catch a team off guard and chambers runs it great, but when you run that play once every game teams start to key it

Trick plays are NOT the problem.

In fact, even if they aren't successful in the game, using them causes your next opponent, in this case Minnesota, to have to spend time preparing for the possibility.

Furthermore, it also opens up the potential to cause defenders to hesitate, so even if a trick play is not run off of a formation it can give whatever play is run a better chance to succeed.

The only real problems with trick plays is when you call them. That was in evidence a bit today IMO.

Exactly. An OC should be able to call an efficient, effective bread-aqnd-butter sequence of plays that all move the ball and outscheme the defense... not just the occasional freak gadget play that works. That sort of novelty can be relegated to an assistant coming up with esoteric (and not widely applicable) trick plays.

I still prefer Linehan.

Mularkey almost cost us the game. Had we lost there would be 2719 Fire Mularkey threads.

2730. I wouldve started 11 of them within five minuted of getting back. Do they test coaches for drugs?
