I do not believe that Philbin and Benton have yet to be able to fairly asses what we have in Dallas, Shelly, Brenner, Turner, and even Fax. We cold be looking for one guy or, maybe a few, and a LB might be added.

In any case, there is nothing out there right now, and waiting a month or more is not gonna make a difference. Patience for the young guys, getting facts on Pouncey, and late cuts are the things to do. JMO

Yes. Just think of the timing when we snapped up Chad Pennington and won the division and had one of our only successful seasons of the past 15 years or so. Decent fill in players get cut late sometimes and all they need is a chance. Just have to find the right guy.

asses? Just kidding. Love it.

I don't see Pouncey getting suspended related to the old bullygate issue, but if he did could in run concurrent with his time on the PUP?

I would take a long look at some the FA's. I think there are players that can more than hold the fort down. Garner did okay last year in a few spots, but I will kill the team if Brenner ends up the option. Shelley Smith? Maybe, but I like him at RG…best fit.

Im not worried. Ive taken the long term, patient view, and realize we are only 1 more first round pick away from securing our center position.

Granted, thats a rough thing to hear after the draft is done, but by next year we will have 3 pillars on the line with Albert, James, and whoever we draft. You know, maybe, if they work out. If not, then we will have to wait until the following drafts first round to address whatever failed.

But regardless, eventually our line will be set, so long as we keep investing massive amounts of money and draft picks into that position group. Just give it time.

Read that also Daytona but wasn't sure if that meant if they are going to do something there not showing their hand until it is announced, or if there done. Tend to think no suspension though, nor for Jerry at this point.

Sounds like the NFL is done with bullygate.

Just wondering in general how a suspension works at the same time a player is injured? For example if player A is injured and out for the first six weeks of the season but he's also set to be suspended six weeks can he come back week 6 or does he have to wait until week 12?

The suspensions had been expected. A person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Sunday that Davis and Williams were expecting to be penalized after failing multiple drug tests. The person spoke anonymously because of the confidential nature of the league's drug testing policy.

Moffitt will serve his suspension beginning immediately, even though he is currently on injured reserve and out for the season with a right knee injury.

Moffitt's agent, Michael George, said that Moffitt's suspension was because of his use of a prescription drug used to treat hyperactivity. George said that Adderall — the drug that Moffitt used — is banned under the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, unless a player has pre-approval from the league. Moffitt lacked that league approval, resulting in the suspension.

George said there are no plans to appeal the suspension because of the strict nature of the league's policy. George said any appeal could potentially carry the suspension over into next season and that it was best to serve the suspension now since Moffitt was already done for the year because of the knee injury. Moffitt underwent surgery to repair the ligaments just before Thanksgiving.

George emphasized the suspension was not for a substance like steroids.

Looks like even though your injured it would count

i thinks it less about who they want at center and more of what guys do you want on the line. Do you want Brenner, Garner, or Turner. If its Brenner or Garner they would fit in at Center while if you want turner in you move smith to center and have turner at guard. And if you dont like those option you start to look at the options in free agency.

I bet Philbin is pissed...He can't catch a break on this offensive line. Just scrap the whole bunch and start again. What is the saying about " a few bad apples" ?
BTW...Karma just hit Pouncey right between the 5 and 1.
