No new corners needed?

Now I realize Poole being injured sucks, but it is very possible that we won't sign any other corners, unless we were planing to beforehand. As I see it, with teh drafting of Daniels, we weren't going to keep all the corners we had anyways. We would lose one somewhere. But with Poole out, we would just keep what we have. Maybe we were already planning to take one of teh db's (excluding Mitchell) from the rookie camp. I feel Bell is fast enough to fill in during dime situations if we get that thin at CB anyways. We aren't in dire starights not matter what happens with Poole's injury. No need to panic, or flip out, or make crazy suggestions(like saying trading Surtain was a bad move, because it was a good move for the future of the team). We wil be fine come the start of the season, i mean we have over 3 months until the season comes around. Poole getting hurt is not the end all, we have Saban and he will do what's best for the team.

I guess 5 corners' a good number of corners to go through the season, if one goes down u have other 4 to go to the game, 2 starters, 2 backups. Without Poole we have Madison, Howard, Daniels, Edwards and Roundtree. That's ok with me.
If another guy gets injured for the rest of the season, then we're F*****

I think that we will bring in a CB like Ray Green and let him compete with the other CB's for a spot on the roster. I dont see us signing any big name guys like T-Buck or Law.

I agree. I think we will still be ok with what we have on the roster. I believe with all of the guys up front that Saban has brought in, the focus will be to ensure that our guys get to the QB before he can throw thereby taking much of the pressure off of the secondary. This really has not been the case over the past few years. Many times, our pass rush was non-existent and we got burned by a QB with too much time in the pocket. Maybe I am wrong, but this is the way I see it.

Does anyone think Avon Cobourne has a shot a making the roster as a corner. I know Saban said he did really well there at the first camp. Saban reminds me of the type of coach that likes to find talent in strange places and from different positions. I also thought Roundtree's career was over from the Broken leg. I could be wrong.

actually Avon Cobourne could possibly contribute and be a dime corner this year...Mario Edwards will also compete for time but shouldnt start even at nickel...Reggie Howard was a starter on a superbowl team...dont worry guys our secondary will look really amazing this year no matter what since our Dline is one of the leagues best on paper

Nobody will question the Surtain trade. It was necessary and still looks good to me. Remember, we got an essential 2nd rounder for him. RRRRRRROOOOOOOTTHHH! Our D and the team will be better for it in a couple years especially.

I don't advocate going out and spending big money on anyone. I am more interested in getting competition with some hungry guys looking to play. They have to sign someone; Saban actually said they were short at rookie camp due to injuries. Referred to Daniels being pretty worked. They will need to sign some guys just to practice. I don't want anyone to think I advocate signing Buckley or Law. I want the team to get younger.
