No Progress On Brown Contract

A source said the Dolphins are balking at guaranteeing Brown at least $20 million of his salary

If it's now down to $20 million where they'll accept the deal, we shouldn't be too far off then.

i thought he was definitely gonna be signed by the hof game, i am starting to second guess that now.

What I think it means is that they said to France "No way we go as high as $20 million." However, France is still probably pushing the $22 million deal.

You're probably right. I was trying to be postive. Darn you Nub!

If they are only 1 million apart now, then maybe the Phins could could give him that extra 1mill, but tack on another year to the contract. If Ronnie meets some fairly lofty incentives then he would have the option of voiding the extra year.

once B edwards or Benson sign it will happen..

thats true...i was hoping to see him play in the HOF game...

Saban is going to play hardball, and IMO he has to and is doing the correct thing. This is his 1st big contract on his watch. He has to set a standard.

Ronnie has the least amount of leverage IMO. Saban is holding all the cards. We can live without Ronnie this year, he cannot live without the Dolphins. Ronnie cannot afford to sit out a year and then go back into the draft. He will not be a top 10 pick at that point. I hope the kid realizes this fact.
