I have a feeling that if we get a new staff in here our little areas of deficiency will be covered up quickly. I think for the most part the GMs are good. Let Tannenbaum bring in his staff...we have the QB, we have plenty of talent. Get a new coaching staff, (maybe keep Lazor...MAYBE) and we should be okay.

We're in for 1 tough year though...I for one will focus my energy on Draft Kings the rest of the season

let Tannenbaum rebuild the team?

depends on who the HC and Gm will be.

a general loosing trend i see in the NFl is that they tend to hire Hot new coordinators as HC that believe they are the next bellicheck and they start hiring " their guys "

Even if that means getting rid of talent already in the roster.

Recent example is vontae Davis, which is good, was good but wasnt of the liking of philbin.

Their inability to adapt their system to the players they have and force the roster players to do things they shouldnt be doing because they dont fit their abilities is appauling and is the answer to the high rate failure of rebuilds in the classical teams like Cleveland, Detroit, KC and now the dolphins.

If the Dolphins want to have success they need to steer away from coordinators with a " my guys" policy and hire a proven old coach that has the mind and inteligence to adapt their system to the talent they have, not the other way around

Obviously the entire actual coaching and Gm are an example of all this and they should be fired inmeaditely.

The thing is that the owner probably doesnt have a clue about football and is the same as them.

The front office had a part to play in making this **** sandwich of a team. They didn't bring in any help for the offensive line, linebackers, or secondary. This team needs a REAL change and that includes the front office getting canned as well.

So you have cap space to:

Get 2 starting LGs,
2 starting LBERS
2 Starting DES
2 maybe 3 CBS
1 starting Safety

And depth at a lot of positions?

dont forget a starting left tackle

Ideally we'd be able to find some of those in the draft, but this is the Dolphins were talking about here.

I want the whole coaching staff gone. Lazor too, I never seen a team so unprepared before. We all knew that Rex was going to unleash Clay on us and the coaching staff did not have our player in the position to stop it, we looked confused in our zone D. I am tried of this no running game type of offence and it is not all because we don’t have the line for it, the head coach came from a place where they didn’t believe in a RB until Lacy. Keep the front office, get new coaches.

We had to be the only team to interview Joe back in 2012, I am not sure but I doubt that he was on any other team’s radar.

Definitely. This time around we need someone proven in the NFL. Philbin is definitely a "my-guys" dude who can't handle the talent around him. Almost every big-name player the Fins have let go under Philbin have continued to make splashes on their new teams.
That says to me that evaluation for who gets to play on the field by the coaching staff on this team is pretty poor and should not be trusted.
We need someone far more lenient and flexible with who they have on their team, and can turn out the best results, and methods to reach those results, in an appropriate amount of time. Kinda like, you know, what a head coach Should be doing.

This organization has proven it does not have the ability to hire competent front office personnel. It doesn't have the ability to build through the draft, or free agency. It does not have coaches who can coach players up, and have them ready on game day. This team has 0 fire in their belly. The offensive and defensive game plans suck. We are bad, and boring, a lethal combination for turning off fans. The performance of this team this season has been pathetic.

We need a completely new Coaching Staff. Any staff worth their salt can come in and fix this team WITH the talent we have and get them to the playoffs. And let's face it, rebuilds or builds ASSUME the new regime has proven and can draft AND the players they need will be IN the next few drafts available for them to draft.

The problem with rebuilds or builds or anything of that complex nature is it can take 4 - 5 years before the team actually becomes a playoff contender. And I'm not talking about these quick rebuilds that seem to cloud people's judgement when they forget how many fail compared to the 1 or 2 shining examples.

The Bengals are a perfect example. They've stuck with Marvin Lewis through his ups and downs but they have become a perennial playoff team. They now must take the next step and become a threat to win the AFC.

I use the Bengals as an example because quite frankly our history in the past 40 years lends itself to the Bengals. We have been bad so long, we must treat this franchise like an expansion team. We must endure a growth cycle that outlives the first group of players drafted by a new regime. To truly become "perennial", you have to have talent depth to sustain losses from FA. Which means you've drafted and lost talent from your new regime's 1st or 2nd draft. Which gives you a timeline of about 4 - 5 years. You must climb each rung of the ladder with solid footing.

Frankly, I think Tannehill is a QB that may never win an AFC Championship. But he IS the QB that we can use to get us to that point. For everyone who thinks waiting another 5 - 7 years to get to that step is too long, how is 40 setting with you? We've gutted and changed regimes so much, we cannot afford to do it again.

Whomever we hire next has to be able to win with THIS team and not send us spiraling into another gut job. Chip Kelly is a prime example of how to ignore talent on your roster in order to bring in people who bow down to your thinking so you can have "your" team.

A coach needing "his players" at every position to win is a sign of a weak coach. A great coach can win with ANYONE. I give you Bill Belichick as a prime example. Brady is regarded as one of the best QBs in the game and soon will enter the bigger discussion. But ask yourself, is Brady the product of Brady or Belichick? Look at how many players Belicheck has shipped away and brought in yet he keeps wining. He is a great coach: Period. And he has worked with head cases. He doesn't care about the names, he coaches to his player's abilities.

And frankly, the talent base we have is a playoff team. Forget individual liabilities, any of these players could go to the Patriots and help that team win.

We need a coach who can come in and work with this team and this roster and these players and make them into a playoff team. Someone who can SLOWLY replace bad players with better players through the draft. I didn't say FA, I said draft. Someone who can work with the financial constraints of this team and maximize the return on the investment made. Get us TO the playoffs. Build that legacy. Then help us WIN in the playoffs. Make that a new page in our history. Then get us to a championship. Make that seem possible.

We have the talent to be in the playoffs. We need a coach who can do the job Philbin couldn't with the players Philbin HAS. I honestly don't think we need any new players to reach the playoffs. We just need great coaches who know how to do it.

We were beaten yesterday by FORMER Dolphins. We HAVE the talent. Find someone who can COACH them.

Tannenbaum? Are people on crack? He is part of the reason we are where we are!

Philbin is not the guy thats going to lead this team to the playoffs. I think its obvious the players aren't behind him based on the games we've seen this season. Philbin is a nice guy, but he clearly doesn't have the ability to motivate. December collapses + the start of this season when there should have been an immediate sense of urgency....and theres none? I'm over it, time to reset.
