He had the best receiver in the nation last year, probably the best player in all college football...and couldn't come up with any scheme to utilize him.

Cam, Shula (just for old times..and staff is all ready in place...more of a figure head), Mora Jr., everyone else.

I see Cam as a Sean Payton type...inventive..
And yes, I personally witnessed Cam at Indiana. He has creative in using Randle El and Levron Williams, hope he can revitalize our O'.

You obviously didn't watch the games. Gailey moved Johnson around quite a bit. He played flanker, split end and both right and left slot. Tried spreading the defenses out to give Johnson a chance at solo coverage. It was the inconsistant play of Reggie Ball that hurt Johnson...not Gailey's playcalling.

I watched a few GT games, and Johnson was moved around a little bit...but he wasn't even looked at on most plays. He had to be the #1 option on every pass play, period. The ball should have been thrown his way at least 15 times a game. That wasn't the case. Should have benched Ball then, and insisted Johnson get some looks. That was their only chance at winning. You seen what Jarrett and Manningham did to Notre Dame, what did Johnson do...nothing because he didn't get any chances...

Gailey should be a BIG no! Why are we screwing around? Mora would be a great hire - guy is young and up coming. Cam is another option - outside of those two seems like a waste of time. Shula has to be just an OC interview versus Jason Garrett. Or a quality control guy. Nothing more. The only catch could be there is someone they are waiting for still in the playoffs. The only logical one would be Turner - Caldwell I can't see.

GT had few weapons to help Johnson succeed, but if Gailey misused the kid so badly I doubt he would be one of the top projected DP's in this coming draft. So I don't buy your arguement. Gailey was very innovative as OC of the Steelers, was responsible for turning Kordell Stewart into a phenom, then Stewart went straight downhill after Gailey left. Aside from which if The Chin says Gailey is HIS choice to replace him at Pittsburgh, I'll take Cowher's opinion over yours any day. Sorry, but who wouldn't?

I'm not going to pretend to know anything about GT ball because I only watch the Canes and with no where near the enthusiasm that I watch the Fins but you can't always have your best player be the #1 option. Chances are the opposition knows he's your best player and is looking to stifle him.

Gailey's biggest mistake was keeping Reggie Ball out there as long as he did. He is just terrible sometimes, a LEADER . . yes, but man he sometimes just looks awful . . .extremely inconsistent. If the QB from the WVA game was out there all year, Johnson would have put up huge numbers (just speculation, but dude looks to be a much better passing QB than Reggie).

I am a Georgia Tech fan too. Yes, it was the inconsistant play of Reggie Ball. However, who was it that left Reggie Ball in there for 4 years? That was none other than Chan Gailey. Reggie Ball, it could be argued, is probably in the top 10 for worst QBs in NCAA history among 4 year starters. Why did Gailey stick with him for so long? A large percentage of Tech fans would like to see Gailey go. I would too, but not to the Dolphins.

I wonder if it was tough for Gailey to get a top H.S. QB recruit to go there for some reason, maybe partly due to Reggie Ball already the starter as a freshman? Ball was sooo inconsistent. Didn't the second string guy playin the Bowl game and Calvin Johnson had a big day too if I remember right? That GT team shouldv'e beaten ND in the opening weekend....GT just plain old got tired and lost.

Gailey should be a BIG no!

Gailey should be a big YESSSSS! hIS RECORD IN COLLEGE IS CLEARLY BETTER THAN cameron! Cameron was ineffective as a college head coach. Mora has a very shaky work attitude with his sense of humor (going back to college). Mora was also fined 25K for using his cell phone during a game. Strange bird. Shula would be pure nepotism at its worst. (I feel bad Bama canned him but not bad enough to hire him as head coach) Shotty is old but capable - would he have the "fire" do try again at 64? Joe Gibbs came back: a great coach in his prime, but not now.
Big Bonus: Gailey actually wants to be here. (although that seems to be a negative)

Not that I am a big Gailey fan but I do find it interesting Marino likes him and thinks he would be a solid choice.
