Come on people, get real...

Those who want to express disappointment about who we should have hired and why ....................... great ...knock yourself out

But to think that you can KNOW the level of success or failure Case will have as our new HC at this early stage, especially considering the fact that He hasn't even made his first decision yet is just crazy......

At least wait for him to do something before you crucify him............give the guy a break ...

Amen!!
Nobody knows for sure what is going to happen.
He had success as an OC in the past and that is all you can go by.
These so called "experts" that post on here know less than the people
who make these decisions for a living.
It is their opinion, which is fine.
But don't come across that you are such an expert that you know for sure that this hire will be a failure.
If you did know you would be working for an NFL team.

On the other hand, its all more than wishful thinking on the part of the optimists here that drone on about having patience and faith... snap out of it.

Marrone came strong during his interview with a plan for fixing the Miami defense. But I’m told Gase had the best plan of any candidate for fixing Tannehill. And Tannehill is the quarterback, which makes him the most important person on the roster.

THIS is what its all about. Everything. The whole deal. It's not the best coach for defense for leading men, for game time decisions, it's about who will coddle Tannehill and make him feel special. Do you think Ross would go all in again on a coach if Ryan didn't have that huge contract?

For the record here on out, I plan to back Gase, his staff and his decisions. If he shows he screws up, then I won't be the only one questioning the hire.

I agree with this but I do enjoy laughing at those that actually think they know better.

But he has already made two decisions. He took the interview and he took the job. Anybody who would willingly work for Ross and Tannenbaum given their track records has to be certifiably insane.

you continue to root for the team that they run....at least he's getting paid. What's your excuse?

Been following the team since 1970. I gladly admit I have no hope that Steven Ross will ever do anything right with this team. I hope to live long enough to see Ross sell the team and then we can rebuild something worthy of our storied past.

Well if anything this is the first time Miami went and got the guy they wanted. No rejection, no leftovers. Gase was high on the NFL list of most potential as head coaches. League wide he was coveted.

Interesting they can talk openly about candidates ages as being factors.

People say this every time there's a dubious decision. Keeping Ireland. Hiring Philbin. Sure no one here is clairvoyant. But life isn't complete chaos. Poor decisions lead to poor results. I don't definitively know what is going to happen, but giving Tannenbaum complete control of your team seems like a bad idea to me. Bringing in a young, unseasoned coach into a situation with a bankrupt football culture seems like a bad idea to me. We'll see. But this idea that you just stumble through life blindly with no hope of seeing what's coming next is pretty dumb. Reality is built on the concept of action and reaction. There's definitely uncertainty. JJ, Saban, Parcells certainly looked like good moves from a distance and unfortunately went to hell. I don't think willfully making bad decisions is the answer, but we'll see.

You are exactly right. Who knows how it will turn out, there are a lot of variables. One thing is for sure, there is no denying that Adam Gase was the hottest coaching candidate this offseason and selected the Miami Dolphins over other teams (with interest in him from Eagles, Giants, and Browns right off the bat).

Pessimistic Dolphin media (Big O being the biggest proponent of this) spouted off all year that the Miami Dolphins would never be able to land a top candidate and would have to settle for scraps because no top candidate would to risk their career working with Tannenbaum or even Steve Ross. OBVIOUSLY that narrative was obliterated this weekend.

How could a fan be upset with the moves made this offseason?

- Promote a GM whos widely respected and on the same page as Tannenbaum.
- Land the hottest, youngest coaching candidate sought after by almost every team with a vacancy and had his pick of where he wanted to go.
- Gase, who is unproven at HC but very respected at OC, will be calling plays and working very closely with Tannehill (who we now learn was being crapped on for 2 seasons by Joe Philbin)
- Gase has the ability to establish a coaching staff as good as anyone, better than my top candidate Shanahan.
- Fins rumored to be high on free agent guards, bringing back Lamar Miller and building the defense through the draft (corner, LB).

Maybe I am missing something... what exactly bad has happened?!
