Nolan Carroll Sucks

Seriously? How much longer is he going to be a scapegoat for so many, no he isn't great but usually does an okay job in coverage just lacks ball skills. Had a huge break up last night althought giving up a big pass but that's all I remember
 
He sucks, yet our 2nd and 3rd round picks can't see the field and we get rid of our 1st and 2nd round picks in 2009.

He continues to make the team because the GM "sucks".
 
I'm sick of people defending him as serviceable and even more upset with the fact tth a second and third round pick are apparently not better than the "serviceable" Nolan Carroll.
 
seriously man, you just figured out now that nolan carroll sucks? its very laughable how a lot of people defend him on here because as you said, he SUCKS!
 
There is suck and then there is another level of suck.

Let me explain:

SUCK is when a player routinely messes up, but plays just well enough to earn a pass by the fans.

EXTRA LEVEL OF SUCK is when a player routinely performs so poorly that fans are actually shocked when something bad happens and it isn't the players fault.

Nolan Carroll is the latter. If a Qb completes a huge throw to get a first down on 3rd and 42, I'm shocked whenever it ISNT Nolan Carroll being burned.
 
I'm actually fine with these guys on the team as long as jimmy and nolan are covering equally scrubby players. Nolan did have one nice pass break up in the game and one INT in the first game of the year, but plays so much and you only see the back of his jersey. Jimmy has made like 3 plays this season, and kudos, but see the back of his jersey too much and usually on good players that he should not be covering. I don't even blame wilson, hes a 7th round safety who gets matched up on elite WRs from time to time. Carroll has always been bad. Wilson and carroll are the targets for every team, except the blitz where jones gets burnt or the coverage zone where WRs run past wheeler. You can't throw on patterson, you can't throw on grimes. Thats our pass defense in a nutshell.
 
Carroll's nothing special but here's a list of defensive starters he's out playing this year:

Soliai, Ellerbe, Wheeler, Jones, Vernon.

But you guys are right, Carroll is the reason we are 4-5.

He isn't the scapegoat, he just legit sucks. He constantly looses his footing, falls for almost every double move. People just remember his one good play for some reason and I don't get it. His few and far in between good play don't make up for him CONSTANTLY allowing receptions.
 
Wilson plays well most of the time & definitely does not suck...

Nolan blows as many plays as he makes.

It seems every team targets him, they do it for a reason.

I am so tired of seeing those close ups of his face after he gets burned.....AGAIN
 
I don't get all the Carroll hate on this board. He's not a #1 CB for sure but he is turning into a good 3. He hasn't made every play but he is holding his own for sure. Give the guy a break. IMO he has improved drastically.
 
The only reason he keeps getting to start is only by default. Look at everyone under him. Taylor, Davis, Stanford... whoever else, all suck worse. And Patterson, well he is what he is and that is Mr. Glass.

The first pass Glennon completed against Carroll was a 30 yarder.
