I see alot ppl bashing our secondary, but in terms of effort, i have to say i am not seeing any effort from nolan and i am very dissappointed. I had big hopes for this kid but i guess the talent just isnt there. We need to sign some others veterans cbs and let this guy walk. It just hard to watch this guy play, almost like he plays to lose the game..

Conditioning coach.

Do we need a new one? do we have one? Hire the best damn conditioning coach out there sparano, get these dbs in shape and fast man.

I think it is obvious our defense was lazy during the lockout! Pats look fresh and crisp, we looked fat, slow and out of shape. Only excuse laziness! So much for being a professional.

The Dolphins have two conditioning coaches... Burger King and KFC.

It used to be an advantage for us playing early in the season against NE teams, but last night it worked aginst us. Let's face it, the Patriots have been the superior organization since the 1990's. As far as Carroll he looked completely lost and demoralized. He doesn't have the speed to catch up with anyone!

At one point, Nolan was f'ing watching himself on the jumbo screen while Brady was resetting the offense and threw a quick pass to Branch.

its not really speed, he is stride for stride with his man usually but the effort to look back for the ball and make the play just isnt there, he plays with no effort.

the defense didn't earn their paychecks this week
lack of conditioning, lack of heart, lack of preparation
somebody needs to light a fire under their ***..

might take a new coach and several drafts to clean up this mess

Gruden said we were in trouble when it was 14-7 for most of the first half, the D was confused and on many occasions couldnt line up right. Idk if Nolan had too much movement presnap or if Dolphin DB's are "legally retarded" but they clearly were confusing themselves.

That level of conditioning is not a quick fix! I would be shocked if we see another team not using the no huddle.

Whats so hard about lineing up in a man to man cover 2? or a cover 4 zone, if a db doesnt know where hes suppose to be he really should not have made this roster. This again falls on our head coach sparano letting this **** slide as usual, its costing us wins sparanos constant mistakes.

I'd place the blame more appropriately on both Sparano and Nolan. Nolan should of had some scheme to give NE some fits. Or at least having multiple plays called. If he did have multiple plays called then it's on him to make sure his players know the system.

Honestly, my guess is Nolan provided Dansby (was he the player with the defensive headset? Can't remember - we'll just say it's Dansby) the plays, but Dansby couldn't get the players in position fast enough (either because they were having problems communicating or players couldn't figure out who/what their man/gap/blitz responsibilities were), or because Dansby couldn't recognize the package quick enough to get them into place.

I'm probably way off..but that's what I was thinking. You can't be that destroyed by just being gassed. I think it was a direct result of knowing and using the right calls.

carroll has to know that when he came in the game brady was gonna attack him...and carrolls body language the whole time was that of a guy who looked like he didn't care and looked defeated...i'm getting real tired of that bull****...all the tools in the world can't make up for a guy whos just going thru the motions...dammit all

as for the conditioning of course its our damn team that would be cramping up and dropping like flies...just the kind of thing that seems to not happen to the good teams and happen to everyone else...what ****ing timing

Carroll was as bad as I had feared. As hoops said, he has all the tools, but that doesn't matter if you can't recognize routes or play the ball in the air. He definitely looked defeated, and was. He absolutely carried over his poor play from the preseason. Jones didn't help him out by not shading to his side once he got into the game, but still. He was the very definition of a liability back there.
