TALLAHASSEE - Spring practice wound up Saturday at Florida State, but not the quarterback controversy.
And though the offense, or Gold team, managed a 29-25 win over the Garnet defense, quarterbacks Drew Weatherford and Xavier Lee each threw a pair of interceptions, leaving new offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher shaking his head.
"The things we did today will lose football games,'' Fisher said after the offense committed five turnovers.
"We're nowhere close to where we wanted to be,'' Fisher said. "We didn't play as well today as we did all spring.''
Coach Bobby Bowden, whose 366 wins are the most of major college coaches, agreed with Fisher.
"We've got to get better to win,'' said Bowden, who is coming off his worst season (7-6) since 1976 at Florida State.
The Lee-Weatherford competition will continue in August.
