Over the past few weeks, there have been "___ suxs, ____ will be cut" and many more post/threads about our QBs, but as I non-hater/non-supporter of any certain QB on the roster, I wanted to give my view on the situation.

Gus: The main reason Gus was brought onto the Miami Dolphins team is because he is a Scott L. man and knows his system. That does not make him a better NFL player then people on our team. What it means is that he is more likely to grasp what Scott is doing with the offense and be the person that makes the learning process easier for the WRs, Rbs, and so on. He has shown good flashes here and there, but he is no means a long term solution to our Quarterback problems, he is more like a mini-mold of what the coaching staff is aiming for.

Feely: Yes, we have all seen AJ last year and his learning pains as being a starter & some of his problems this preseason. I know people want to bash him and cut him from the team, but let's not forget even our new General Manager(forget his name) has said in the past that getting Feely was a good move...so its clear that not only did Wanny and Rick see something in him, but other people did also. If Saban truely thought that AJ didn't stand a chance in our new offensive scheme, he would not even be bothering getting him involved. I don't hate AJ nor do I love him, but point is that we've all seen that he can be a decent QB in the NFL(rather it be back up or starter) and the New England game last season will show that.

Berlin: Let's not forget that he is a rookie qb in the NFL and has struggled in the college game. He has shown some light that he can play and is a decent player, but to say put him in the game as the starter is not the solution or way to go about things. There was only one Dan Marino, one Jim Kelly, one Steve Young, and there is only one Big Ben, so people need not think Berlin will do for us like Ben did for the Steelers in his rookie season. Having said that, Berlin should make the team and be developed into a very decent backup.

Sage: Nothing really to say about Sage because he hasn't played that much, thus you really can't give thoughts and views on somebody you rarely see throwing the ball. From what I did see against the Jags on Saturday and what Sage did durning the Ravens game last season, he shows some promise as being a pretty decent backup of sorts.

The point of this thread was not to bash or praise any QB on the team, but rather to give personal thoughts on each and hoping that the users that want to bash each QB can see that we have a pretty decent qb core here, maybe not all superstar QBs, but people that can get the job done under the right coaching staff.

I like it. Randy Mueller I believe is the GM. And you bring up a good point about Dave and Rick not being the only people who see something in Feeley.

Very nice post. Great to see after reading so many negative posts about our qb's and how they suck. I myself have joked about feeley being bad. But the truth is, I really liked him while he was playing last year, and thought most of his troubles were because of the o-line and no running game. Its been disappointing to see him struggle this preseason.

But I too am confident saban will ultimately make the right choice. I dont see any need for bashing anyone or starting the cut "XXX" threads. Its silly. Some of the same people wanting to ax feeley would be back next week saying how great he is if he has a good game vs pitt.

Bottom Line: Feeley has struggled so far and Gus certainly deserves to start at this point. But theres no need to worry about who is cut just yet...wanny isnt running this team anymore. Saban will keep the guys who deserve to be here.

thank you for that.

I do get tired of reading the same stuff, but that was well thought out.

nice post...except for "FEELY" :)

Thanks for the thanks guys. I am full of such post, just don't post them.

Exactly! If AJ is still here, he is here for a reason, not because he adds depth to the roster.

Hmmm...since this thread has seemed to get some good responses, I just might have to do my then and now topic I've been saving.

Ben is not that special he got drafted on to a good team that was extremely good at running the ball and all he did was not make many mistakes, he's not in a class by himself sorry but he's not, Philip Rivers would of done the same exact thing if he started for that team and so would have Eli Manning. Berlin would also have done very well on that team with the great D and great running game.

I've said this numerous times before but I'll say it again, many players do better in the NFL, extremely better, then they did in college. Tom Brady is the classic example, he didn't make a name of himself in college but then he goes into the NFL and excels

And why was that? It was because of the coaching staff and teachings he had surrounding him in New England. Thats a point in my first post, with a great coaching staff around any of our QBs, they can win games without being superstars aka Tom Brady.

good point but Brady is alot better then the average NFL QB, he always throws for 3,000 plus yards, Berlin could do the same thing in a good situation

Better as in mental playing of the game, yes. But as in athletic wise, I'm not so sure about that.

With Saban, Scott L., and Houck molding this offense, I really do see a New England type of playing heading our way.
