Sure, I'm as excited as anyone to see what the offense did today. They did great. But to be fair, it was the defense that blew my mind. While the San Diego defense is not very good, the offense is among the league's best. To pitch a shut-out against Rivers and Co. is awfully impressive. This is a team that had scored more than 20 points in every game but one -that being 18 against the tough Cardinal D.

To put some numbers on it, going by FO San Diego and Miami were tied at 9th in team efficiency, but while Miami's 12th offense was facing the 27th defense, Miami's 4th-ranked defense went against the 3rd offense. I wouldn't have been surprised to see Miami win a high-scoring affair -you know, low thirties... But to dominate that Charger offense? Wow. Just wow.

And the best thing, in my mind, is we didn't even do it by crushing the SD offensive line. We did it with coverage (and stuffing the run). I'm now sold on this defense. I did have my doubts. Sure, we have the passrush. But the coverage passed a test of fire today. This defense is good enough to take us as far as we want to go and that's pretty exciting...

The type of defense you can do some serious damage with.

Yup, our defense is gonna keep us in most games. If our offense plays like this, we can beat just about anyone.

Defense was outstanding today but if Misi gets hurt again we're back to watching Trusnik get smoked.

Amazing d today

just imagine what this defense would look like with a stud MLB. i like Misi, he's reliable. but he isn't among the top level MLB's in the NFL. Trusnik is just a black hole that gravitates big plays towards it.

I think Coyle having players move around a lot more presnap is what is making it hard on opposing quarterbacks. Quaterbacks have need another second to break down the defense after the ball is snapped and it allows us to get better pressure and then turnovers off of it.

Great to see the defense have so much success. When the turnovers start....they come in bunches and the defenders seem to get more hungry for them after the first one occurs.

You have to like the play of our DB's. They are all 6'5" tall today....

San Diego's defense is ranked 11th as of now. So there's no way they were 27th coming into the game

The D is at or near the top in every significant category. When everyone was bemoaning the GB loss, I was pretty excited for the way the D competed. We haven't competed (offensively or defensively) with this consistency or tenacity since Nick Saban, and the D is much more talented than the D's we had with Saban. If Tannehill can continue to play efficiently, this is an 11-5 team. Big game against Detroit. Teams going on the road after a big home win tend to have a letdown, and with road games against Denver and New England and homes games against Baltimore and Buffalo, it'll be a tough game to make up. But when you're playing top-tier D and your QB is playing efficiently, you can beat anyone. If Miami attacks every game with playoff intensity, I like our chances, but we can't afford any lapses.

We're somewhat weak at linebacker, though I do like what Misi and Jenkins have done, but in the front four and in the secondary we're as good as anyone, specifically at DE. Cameron Wake is an absolute animal, I would not take another defensive end in the league over him besides Watt, and Vernon is turning out to be an excellent compliment.

The Dolphins D has their base 4-3, a 3-4 scheme, a 5-2 scheme, a speed package look & now a dime with 4 safeties. And all of the work well. @OmarKelly

Coming into the game I was worry about our defense being able to get off the field and on that first drive for SD it was looking bad and then on 4 and 1 we stopped them and imo that was the game. Everything changed after that hugh play. Kudos to the defense.
