Norv Turner is not coming to Miami if Linehan leaves.

I think part of Norv's problem here was Wanny.

THAT SAID... I think his offensive system is no longer the dominant one it used to be. While it could have served us well while he was here... it's time to stop crying over spilled milk and realize there are better out there now. And, honestly, Linehan's system is one of them.

Come on Scotty L, STAY!!!!

That's my cry....

I just don't think (all bias aside) he's ready to coach. It was Saban who made him come down on the sidelines and change his playcalling..... that should tell him he still needs to grow as a coach

Norv...is a Ca. Boy....

Norv this is pretty much his last stop in the NFL...and he stays in California...

Over in the VIP, NJFINSFAN1 said that Mort reported that Leinhan would be named as the Rams HC. One thing that I don't understand is why hasn't it been posted throughout the interest?

I just looked in there. I didn't see that. What thread is it in?

Look at around the middle of the 3rd page in the Norv Turner rumor thread.

Norv is going to another bad situation. SF has a lot of problems and the are missing Norms best play maker, a big RB. I think SF's defense will be tough in a couple of years but Norm is old news. He had a great receiving core in Oakland and couldn't make it work. Had the big RB, Moss and Porter at WR a d decent TE and they did NOTHING. He will fail at SF and am quite suprised that SF's new HC, Nolan?, would make this kind of move. Would think he would go with a younger, hungier up and comer to work with the offense. Norv won't be the guy. He could suprise and show me wrong but I really don't think he will, his stint in Oakland was shockingly bad after all the hype he hype he had while in Miami.

On the plus side for Norv, he won't even have to move with this job change, which I am sure is very rare in the NFL. That was probably a factor.

I believe when Norv was head coach of the Redskins, Mike Nolan was his defensive coordinator.

Do the failors of Norv Turner and Wanny taint Jimmy Johnson's legacy? Both of his top coordinators have been fired TWICE as head coaches.

Yes, great HC like Parcells and Belicheck(sp) have great co-ordinators that go onto better things because they were able to watch great coaches coach on the sidelines for a few years and learn what they need to do to be great HC's.

So from what you say, we were doomed with Jimmy because he was never a great Head Coach?

Jimmy needed superior talent to win. In fact you could say his Dallas teams were the most talented football teams ever, solely because they would have won using any scheme. Jimmy was hungry and determined in Dallas, and a fat happy cat in Miami.
