So you wanted Miami to massively reach for very limited and flawed players that did not fit the scheme? Draft a project QB that will give you nothing. Here is a quote that has helped me many times " a bad plan is better than no plan at all" Your draft is no plan at all just people everybody knows while the Pats win 6 Super Bowls with guys who are scheme fits and do the one job they want them to do.

I know some people wanted Miami to draft a corner on day 3, but with Armstrong, Davis, Delaney, Mctyer and Tankersly on the roster Miami has enough developmental type of corners. Not to mention they added a few udfa's too. They need a vet to go with Howard, Rowe and McCain and one or two of the young bucks.

This was never about this yrs draft. The Rosen pickup may or may not work out but it's worth the shot. Next yrs draft is going to be the important one. Having so many picks gives the team alot of different options. I'm liking the direction and strategy the Dolphins are now employing. Everybody just needs a little patience now.

Not a good draft

I was wondering if there was anyone on this forum who did not like this draft at all.

For the our first pick at first I did not like the pick we made but now the big boy is growing on me.

As for the second round I'm not all that happy that we spent a second on Rosen even though we picked up another second for next year, you won't see me complain though as last year I was at the edge of my seat hoping that we drafted Rosen until Arizona crushed my dreams.

As for the rest of the draft I felt like it was horse ****, I'm not complaining, im all in for seeing how it all pans out, however I do have an early on opinion that I hope I'm wrong about.

There was all American talent all across the board in the later rounds and we passed them for players most of us are not familiar with or that was Barley productive in college.

I feel like they are trying to mold everything into the patriots way, ever since they came on board they are copying everything the patriots do and I feel like we have spend decades hating them just to follow their lead because of success?

These things come with good and bad traits, like in the lower rounds wastinf picks drafting running backs when we have huge needs in other areas. The patriots love having running backs and are always shifting through them, how about finding our guy at running back and one other guy to supplement them. Not go through 5-6 running backs a season with a few getting cut and brought back like new England does.

Can we just bring a bit of the patriots way and form our own way as well? Instead of trying to copy everything the patriots do? Seems like we are being followers in some shape or form.
Same kind of drafting the patriots do. It’s not who you like it’s who the team likes. Do you have scouts out and doing research and studying these players? No!! Your just a fan with your opinion. Who cares if they copy the patriots as long as it works. It would be nice if people kept the negative bull **** out of here when the organization is trying to rebuild and do it the right way.

Your just looking at the draft and the roster when the “ franchise “ has to look at that and the salary cap the player contracts and planning for next years draft. Just stop complaining with your ridiculous and futile Thread making and try to enjoy the ride.

So many better options.

Must not have enough time to list them all.... how about just 2 or 3 of your "better options" and maybe why they are better in your opinion (or stats if you prefer)

maybe if you fat stuffed mouthed squirrels would shut the **** up for once this forum is a bunch of pee pee pants city cry asses

Such angst from a relatively new poster.... maybe you're not ready to engage in differences of opinion... you may have jumped the gun on your development to think you're ready for the adult table... you may want to start out on the practice squad for a season or two...

Bahahahaha. And then you heap more attention to yourself with your heated replies to some.

If you actually knew how to read, I stated that I wasn't complaining and that it was just an early opinion of mine, maybe if you fat stuffed mouthed squirrels would shut the **** up for once this forum is a bunch of pee pee pants city cry asses

When one says they aren’t complaining, they’re complaining. As for the rest of your unnecessary **** talking to me and everyone else, you aren’t doing yourself any favors by being that way. I’d recommend stopping.

We drafted like the Patriots do so players can be coached up. I have zero issues with this. How long has it been since we've had coaches who will actually coach players to potential.

You state your opinion then blast those who don't agree.

If you only want others to agree and back you don't post on a message board.

Weird draft. IMHO, we did very well for most of the draft, stockpiling talent for next year with the trade downs, getting the right players with the first two picks (the most important picks) Wilkins and Deiter, but not sure we drafted any more starters. I'm not as optimistic about Rosen as most, so while it is a trade, he could become a 3rd starter and the most important piece to this draft, and I don't want to minimize what the Grier/McKenzie/Flores & the front office did, they masterfully got an extra 2nd next year by trading down, then traded for a young QB who has already been paid his bonus for a late 2nd, so that was good bargaining.

Ultimately, Rosen's success or failure will determine this entire draft. If he succeeds, we crushed it. If he doesn't … well then this becomes a subpar draft where we're rebuilding and only got 2 starters. (plus a 2nd next year).

But in the end, we needed more talent. I'm hopeful someone like Van Ginkel can work but he isn't big enough, not quite fast enough, doesn't shed blockers, needs help (scheme) to get to the QB, and looks more like a special teamer than a starting off-ball LB, and probably not an edge rusher.

Isaiah Prince is a project pure and simple. Big mauling OT with good potential and length, but he gets stood up too much, spends too much time on the ground, isn't a great pass protector, doesn't finish his blocks, and often just stops blocking before the play is finished. In short, he's a long ways from fulfilling that potential, and he looks like a guy that will be very hard to re-sign if he ever reaches that potential, and offers little until he does.

The 7th rounders never have a high chance of success, and these guys are no different, a role playing FB we could have gotten as an UDFA, and a scatback. The real meat of this draft, rounds 3-5, could have all produced starters, but we maneuvered ourselves out of most of those picks, and didn't take advantage of that value. Now, it's all riding on how Rosen works out or doesn't work out.

Well said...and for Rosen to succeed right away we would have needed more/higher picks to help solidify the OL (and pass rush for that matter). Right now our line is worse than AZ's was so how can anyone expect him to succeed? We have to pray Dieter ends up being an above avg starter, as just bc someone is starting for this team doesn't mean they should be. I didn't love the Van Ginkel pick but hopefully I am wrong. My fav part of the draft was probably picking up the extra 2nd rounder next year.
