Not a good year for Grier

I actually think it's possible Kamara ends up being here longer than Robinson, which would probably be totally on par for a Grier draft class.

Bad year for Grier? More like bad decade. Zero playoff wins since 2000 (2016 since Grier has been GM) is enough for most teams to fire their GM.

I appreciate the way Grier drafts. Go get premium positions that are rarely available on the open market.

If you are drafting for this year specifically, you screwed up during the free agency period.

I don't think Grier bats 1.000% obviously. My preferrence would have been Briant Thomas Jr over Chop, but that's a differnece of opinion; I'm happy with Chop. The Paul pick is the issue to me, but that's just a different evaluation. I still think it was a good pick process-wise.

What would you change?
I also would have gone Thomas there, or Mitchell. It will be interesting to see how the careers of Thomas, Mitchell and Robinson go.

Second round, I liked Beebe but he ended up going almost 20 picks after Paul. Personally, I just thought Miami really needed to upgrade the middle of the line.

Overall, this could turn out to be a good draft, though.

Iā€™m depressed. We could have done much better.

The season has yet to begin, of course, but through several weeks of camp and 2 preseason games so far ā€¦ this post isnā€™t aging so well.

Outside of Tahj Washingtonā€™s injury, most every one of Grierā€™s 2024 draftees have shown a little something.

Patrick Paul has impressed almost everyone. Chop, Kamara, and Malik Washington have flashed. Jaylen Wright has looked really good. Even 6th round pick Patrick McNorris has looked like a player.

On top of all that, a couple of the UDFAā€™s have impressed as well.

Itā€™s still early and a lot needs to play out, but thereā€™s potential for a home run draft/offseason.

It was a good draft. I just hated the first round pick and the midget WRs. I had Chop as a mid second rounder. He canā€™t play on early downs as teams will just run right at him. I think we missed out on elite talent like Quinyon Mitchell and even Barton would have been better. I do have to give Grier credit though on Duck, Meyer, McMorris, and Rucci. Those were all guys off my radar and good picks. Very nice overall

Lol Wright and Malik say hello

With hindsight it is looking like a pretty strong Draft.

But I was not in love with the Robinson pick either.I would have gone for Barton or try to trade up a bit for Fautanu.

I hope Chop turns out to be great, and he has shown the athleticism to be a dangerous pass rusher but he is going to need to improve his pass rush move arsenal and he is really going to need to get stronger to stand up on running plays in his direction.

Right now he is best case a designated pass rusher but with the injuries at Edge he is going to need to play more snaps on early downs than he is ready for.

Ok, which great draft pick had a good game yesterday?

None of our draft picks played except Chop Robinson. He had zero tackles, zero sacks.
