Not A Total Rebuild?

This was yet another massive failure for the Dolphins organization. If this is any indication of Ross' "rebuild" then we are going to see essentially the same team next year with McD and Tua keeping the Fins in the cellar.
Bit it won't be the cellar .. the real cellar will belong to the Jets who will tank next season while we will win some useless games and end up like 6-10 and losing on top 5 talent. But if we think about it .. that's the actual cellar

You can’t just trade every good player and expect a Gm to want to take over a team with no talent. In the modern day nfl it doesn’t take 5 years to build a team.
It’s good that we left some talent for the next Gm to decide what he wants to do with it.
There are many ways to build a good football team. Look at the Seahawks and the Colts this year

Yes but why not hire that GM before the start of the 2026 season. Sweeten the pot offer them a 6 year contract and tell them 2026 and 2027 are rebuild years to start filling the roster with drafted talent? Why waste an entire draft including a top 5 pick with a guy who isn't your long term GM. That makes no sense. If you're going to rebuild then the time to start is now.
I think he will hire a new GM. I hope so.

It took Patton (Denver’s GM) 4 years and that’s because he made the mistake of paying so much for Wilson. As soon as he was able to dump him and got Nix they look like a totally different team. There are other teams that turned it around faster, but I think the Dolphins resemble the Broncos. Albatross QB, no continuity…if Ross can get a good GM we should start seeing changes rather quickly, but I’m willing to give it more than 2 years.
That's a good comparison. Miami could dump Tua, but I think the team is better off if he's the bridge quarterback for 2026. Then I believe they can get out of his contract after 2026.

It's possible the Dolphins get their quarterback this draft. We'll see what New Orleans and the Jets do.

Jests will most likely have a much better team next year than the Fins. More high draft picks and more money to spend.

If the Jets are smart, which I’m not sure they are, they’ll fire their coach on black Monday and immediately get a new one with some winning experience, see Patriots.

Based on the trade deadline activities or lack thereof, seems like Champ Kelly and S. Ross don't think we need a total rebuild. This may not be a popular opinion with some here on the Board but we do have good young talent sprinkled with good and not so old veterans like Minkah, Jordan Brooks, Brewer, etc. Maybe our Brass think we can contend for Playoffs in a couple of years with a half-rebuild. I think how they handle Tua and Tyreek and Chubb contracts will determine what happens going forward. All the other contracts I believe are manageable as Grier was not handing out long term contracts the last two years to free agents unless it was 3 year contracts to the right players - Brewer, Jordan Brooks.
We have no secondary. We need a new starting right tackle. We have no salary cap space next year. The person who is likely going to be the new full time GM isn’t even in the building yet. Too early to say but i doubt we were offered fair value for what the players actually cost and such. Waddle isn’t too expensive for example. But u could be right?

There's a big difference between hanging on to Waddle and Achane, and not trading Chubb and Fitzpatrick. But it's the Dolphins, so of course they handled it poorly, and the fans are in here early huffing the copium.

I believe the team will be rebuilt in the offseason.

A new GM coming in with extra picks in the draft and tradeable assets will shake the blanket, and I predict the first to fall will be McD.

I don't believe Tua will be the starting QB, and I feel confident that Waddle and Achane will be gone, along with Minkah and Chubb.

I see an entirely new coaching staff and a different look for the team, particularly in terms of scheme and style of play.

Ross is going to set the team up for success before stepping down. (prediction)

WTFU!!!!!

huh? oh sorry, dozed off for a second :chuckle:

You don’t have a QB, nor an OL, or pass rush or CBs or LBs. Of course it is a total rebuild.

In fact. It so total that unless Ross goes, it’s not a rebuild at all!!

Aaron Glenn isnt going anywhere. He's a legacy hire from his playing days. They did this to give him a chance. Now, I would sh!tcan his arse, but thats just me.

But they will mess it up because they are the jets. It’s been like that for 60 years
Yes, but the Fins track record isnt much better and is worse by some parameters like last playoff win, and last afc championship game appearance. Yes Jests suck, but Fins ARE the Jests South. Both are laughingstocks. Its a battle to see who sucks less.
