Lets regain our sanity for just a minute and remember this is a very young team with no 'playoff' type experience collectively, that includes this coaching staff as a team.

Whatever happens on Sunday will have less to do with talent but more to do with experience = execution.

Whether we win or lose, this is the exact type of game that these young players need under their belts for the coming seasons as this regime continues to rebuild and tweak this roster.

The pluses and minuses:

Quarterback - edge Miami, Pennington has plenty of big game experience

Offensive line - edge N.E. We all know how many SB these guys played

Defense - edge N.E. again, same as above, one equalizer is NE injuries

Turnovers - edge Miami, home game, fins DB's could get a gift fm Cassel, point value 3 points.

Special Teams - edge N.E., miami liability in kick coverage, could mean the difference in game, could cost fins 3 points easily.

Coaching - edge N.E., but not that much of a difference given the Tuna factor, and new wrinkle in Wildcat. I expect to see NE beakout WC offense on key 3rd or 4th downs and goallines...its just like Bellichek.

Intangibles - edge Miami, it's a sellout, and I believe most will showup, could mean a couple extra penalties for NE, field position early in game, perhaps a big play from Miami special teams, and extra juice for our D on key situation. Could have a 3 point value for fins.

In the end, given the importance of this game, and NE getting beat by Jets last week,............

Fins 23
Pats 17

With our D hanging on at the end!

Miami has better D than NE. Offensive lines are about equal. Special teams should be good tomorrow. Which means ginn and bess will have good returns. and Since when do Any of the pats suberbowls matter? Don't forget they didn't deserve those.

Playoff experience is extremely overrated. And this isn't quite the playoffs. Pennington has playoff experience anyways.

OL equal? Yeah, right. The Pats OLine deserved the multiple probowl slots they got last year, and they finally are all together again. Neal & Kazcur missed the first matchup due to injuries.

I'll give you the defense. With all the Pats injuries, the rooks have to step up. So far, it's been hit and miss. Pats Dline is one the best in the league, but the lb squad is hurting with Thomas out. The secondary is very suspect. Luckily Pennington can't hurt them deep unless they give him lots of time, but the Pats have been getting killed by his favorite passes - dumps over the middle.

Bottom line, whoever can get off the field on 3rd down will win. Pats were horrible last week, allowing the Jets to go 9 for 12 on 3rd downs.

Special teams - Pats kr is one of the best, Hobbs is one of the better returners in the league. Again though, injuries have hurt them there. Too many long returns allowed.

Why should special teams be good tomorrow? They have sucked every game so far this year, and there is no rational reason to believe they will do anything but suck tomorrow. I sincerely hope they they are at least OK, but the truth is that if NE simply makes sure they block Cobbs and Allen they are going to have excellent field position all day long.

The only question on the Pats o-line is if Porter can abuse Light the way he did last time. If he can, Cassell is in for a very long (or possibly very short) day. Other than that they are a very solid unit.

Our defense is playing better than their's, but they have to in order to stop NE's receivers.

We can win this game. But it won't be easy.

You don't look into Dolphin news much do you?

We picked up a couple of guys. Great. Only 7 to go.

On the runback Oakland had against us it wasn't just guys not maintaining their lanes. 4 guys were on the wrong side of the field entirely. No discipline at all, just run towards the ball and hope the KR stands still until you get there. Everyone thinks they're a gunner.

Added to that, we have a kicker with a fairly weak leg.

The field position battle is what worries me the most about this game.

big game, schmig game, as long as you come out and hit them in the mouth with intensity.. thats all the experience you need.
