Not Flagging The Pats? Who Knew??

I didn't watch the game. I don't believe there is a conspiracy for the Pats to win. Really it's a non-issue, IMO. It seems like this year though there have been more blown calls that cost teams games, or atleast the chance to win the game. Hochuli has missed a few calls and the Falcons got screwed over by a call on Sunday.

i dont think there is a conspiracy for the pats to win either, i think the its just the inconsistency with the officiating in the nfl, its getting worse and worse and every year the officials are deciding the games more and more

I don't take it as a conspiracy either, more as just a bit of humor in a tounge in cheek way.

I don't rule out just a little favoritisim with some of these non-calls we see and certain teams or individuals tend to benifit more than others.

Just as some players on other teams seem to get flagged for just showing up.

After all, coincidences being what they are, what other team, (after all the moaning that the officials look the other way when it comes to the Pats and penalties), would have this happen to them.

It could have been any team, but why doesn't it surprise me it's the Patriots. It's a bit comical in it's own right.

Now, after I post this, we see Wilfork on the carpet for a behind the play elbow to the head of Cutler a couple of weeks ago.

Again another tape sent in showing an incident the zebras missed. They have "missed" a few blatant dirty plays by Wilfork in the past as well.

They can suspend a player for a hit durring a game where guys are flying around reacting to conditions as they unfold in split seconds, yet here is a sneaky premeditated shot at a guys head and all he gets is another fine.

When it comes to conspiracies, incidents like the one Wilfork, a Pat, got himself into, followed by the lame responce by the commisioner, doesn't do a lot to convince us that some prefrential treatment isn't taking place.

If that is true or false, who knows? I'd like to believe that there is no bias, but sometimes a whole lot isn't done in some cases to convince me otherwise.

You make an excellent point about the premeditated cheap shot vs something like the Anquan Boldin hit. Didn't Albert Haynesworth get a suspension for stepping on that guy's head? How could you not give Wilfork atleast a one-game suspension for this, when you suspend the Jets safety for playing like he was coached to.....?

Haynesworth got 5 games for trying to kill Gurode. Now he's the best defensive tackle in the NFL and is going to get alot of cash this offseason. Wilfork was fined last year for a dirty hit on Losman so it wouldn't be the first time he's done something dirty. I'd like to see consistency in fines and suspensions. It is ironic how it is the Patriots and a Patriots player who gets off lightly.

I try not to think it happens but in every sport refs give the home team an advantage. Watching the Rays in the playoffs they get an extra seeming 3-5 inches at home in the strike zone. Last year Brent Barry got mugged and didn't get a foul call in the NBA playoffs. Hochuli cost the Chargers a game. The Falcons got screwed over. It seems to me atleast officiating in every sport is becoming more noticeable which means they're doing a pathetic job.
