Not only cant ireland draft he will now have draft picks taken from us

I'll be surprised if the NFL strips picks from the Dolphins. The Saints went against a league hot topic of player safety and had a coach running a bounty system. This pales in comparison and most likely would involve suspensions and fines of anyone not fired after this mess is over.

:bobdole: Did the Pat's coaches tell Hernandez to go out and murder someone?

Obviously the coaches didn't tell him. Why are you even asking that question ???? . Anyway I was just saying that I thought the Pats didn't get any draft taken away but someone said they lost a first. I'd understand the Saints because they had a program to purposely hurt players. I don't think this situation deserves picks taken away. Fines definitely, people getting fired maybe, suspension definitely as well.

You're comparing the two situations and saying that since the Pats didn't lose a pick because Hernandez murdered someone, we shouldn't lose a pick over this. The two situations are not analogous. Our issue is a team issue that involved behavior in the workplace; the Hernandez murder is not a team issue.

I'm not saying I want us to lose a pick; I don't. But I wouldn't be shocked if we did. The NFL front office may decide to use this situation to send a message to teams about allowing certain behaviors to continue that would be difficult for the league to defend in court.

For the Hernandez situation? I don't think so... They lost a first rounder for the whole spy gate thing...

Yeah, I misread it. I thought that's what he was talking about for some reason.

We aren't getting draft picks taken away from us. Period. The Patriots were penalized by stripping a 1st round draft pick because of spygate - a situation in which they broke the rules by taping opposing teams walk-thrus in order to have a competative advantage. The Saints lost 2 2nd round draft picks because of bountygate - a situation in which they broke the rules (by providing illegal incentives) to their players for taking out targeted players from opposing teams in order to have a competative advantage. The NFL has taken draft picks to penalize teams that have broken rules in order to have a competative advantage on the field - this is not the situation currently facing the Fins. We aren't gaining any competative advantage by having one of our players "bullied".

While i find your continuous thread making annoying, you have a point.

Theres a legitimate chance we get slapped by the league. Depending on what else is uncovered, coaches could be handed suspensions and draft picks could be stripped. Above all else, the league protects its imagine. Thats rule number 1 for them. It the recent reports are true that coaches were egging Incognito on, the Dolphins will be made to suffer. The franchise will have to lose this fight in order for the league to look good.

Edit: I was wrong Saints did lose picks. If Philbin OK'd this we're ****ed.
