I'm basing my theory off something I've seen out of Daunte before, and something that was rekindled in NFL action today. Did any of you guys catch the Giants/ Eagles game today. In the overtime, Eli recognized man coverage on his big boy, Plexico Burress, and basically just threw it deep and high. Plex had a change to make a play on the ball 1 on 1, and what happend? He went up and got it for the walk off TD.

Now, if any of you have ever seen film of Culpepper for the Vikings (I'm sure you all have) you will notice he did that a lot with Moss. Which is the main reason people draw the argument that Moss "made" Culpepper. Well maybe someone should tell Daunte that Chris Chambers has a 45'' vertical leap. He also displays amazing hands and freakish like ability to make circus catches. Try to isolate Chambers all by himself and just give him a chance. I haven't seen him do that yet. These balls very rarely get intercepted and I doubt any DB would out jump Chris to make a pick. It is either going to be a big play or imcomplete pass.

Other players need to get the ball in space. I guess this is more of an effect of play calling, but I want to see Ronnie and Randy catch the ball in space. Delayed routes into the flat are where both these guys exceed. You give Ronnie the ball with room to manuver, he can take it to the house. (See, Buffalo game last year.)

Basically what I'm saying is continue to take chances, but pick your spots better. Instead of forcing balls by throwing it into tight spaces as hard as you can, put it up, and give your guy (Chambers a chance.) All 3 of Daunte's picks have been forced balls. So my advice to Daunte, you can force it, just pick your spots. Realize when it is necessary and realize the risk before you throw it. He needs to analyse every situation before each snap. If he just throws that ball away towards the end of the first half today, we get a couple more shots at a TD and is worst comes to worst, we tie the game with a field goal.

End rant here.

Im from Viking country, and I watched culpepper stink and fumble and throw interceptions and Blow game after game. He is not a smart QB, and he is not gonna be our guy. I think he is gonna be out of the league.
PS. The vikes with a healthy PEP last year stunk. Now with Brad johnson they are a well oiled machine. Was PEP the reason they didnt have more success the last few years? Probably

I see what your sayin and agree.. However, we just don't have a QB smart enough to comprehend this. Unfortunately .

We may have the QB on the team, but definitely not the one who started today.

Stop recycling posts.

I really don't know that I can agree with that. I know Daunte is not giving me any backup on this so far, but he was the only bright spot on that team in 2004. He was ridiculous that season. I honestly am flabbergasted at this situation. Usually, I have a pretty good idea of what's going on, and a supported opinion. But right now, I really don't know what to think. History tells me to still believe, but then there's the part that says open your eyes and see what's happening in front of you.

I've set the meter at 5 weeks. If we aren't 2-2 going into that game, something is seriously wrong. If we aren't 3-2 AFTER that game, we are not a playoff team. Then after all of that, I will begin to judge Daunte. But I think he has earned at least that many games.
