Offensive lineman Jacques McClendon is looking forward to his first regular season game as a member of the Miami Dolphins after what was a forgettable last weekend.
McClendon, who was signed in the offseason as a free agent, wasn’t on any NFL team after being released by the Dolphins last Friday, although he was confident he would return soon.
And then he didn’t get a chance to watch the Dolphins’ season-opening victory at Washington because his daughter, who just turned 1, was sick Sunday, so he was “playing daddy duty all day.”
McClendon, who can play guard or center, will be facing his former team Sunday if he’s among the 46 active players. He played 18 games for the Jaguars over the past two seasons.
“It’s a great group of people and (there’s) definitely nothing but good remembrances of my time there,” McClendon said of the Jaguars. “I’ve still got a lot of good buddies on the team. I talked to some last week actually, so it’ll be good to see a lot of people.”
