We had a big turnover last off-season but the same lack of ability to play in the brightest of lights still plaque this team.
There really isn't a single part of this football team that can play from behind, it always snowballs out of control. People have stated the defense played well but they really didn't, the first New England TD was easy and set a tone for the game. Good defenses don't give up 36 points and time after time get gashed by the most basic of plays. People bitch about the lack of offensive production (which I'll get to below) but many Super Bowl Champions have had below average offenses and still won. We let teams score in droves and scarcely get back to back stops which you need to come from behind. Yes they are on the field alot but they don't help their case by rarely getting three and outs.
I'm a big Tannehill guy and feel he is the guy for the next couple years, but I could be wrong. Tannehill needs to actually pull his team from behind every now and then, he has done a piss poor job at playing from behind. I do think he has the skills and I do think he is hindered by a poor line, lack of a power running game, and WR's that can't seem to get separation and drop to many passes...but Tannehill is no longer a rookie. He has to set the tone for the offense. His play from game one through last night is unacceptable. However he is our QB and will be in the future so let's just hope the Staff and Tannehill figure that out.
I may be wrong but I just don't agree with those who keep preaching "stay with they run game". Primarily our defense has never shown us in these (falling behind) type games they can get their footing and hold. That's a problem when you lean on the run. Additionally Miller isn't all that good. Yeah he can blast through a hole but that's about it. He really should be more a support or 3rd down back. As that game progressed I found myself wishing we had figured a way to of gotten Gurley in the draft.
Misc staff stuff:
(A)So sick of the Parker Saga, if he can get on the field we should see something out of him. If not scratch him.
(B)Jodan Camron is one of the best receiving Tight Ends in the league yet hardly used. Last night would of been the perfect game for it.
(C)This was anther game that the opponent seamed to know what we were doing on both offense and defense...they need to figure that out and make adjustments.
(D)Why give New England the ball first? WTF think about it? More bad 101 coaching.
(E)Lazor should be replaced. He is of questionable quality and remains a influence from the Philban era.
