If I had an ND thread I could have put this in it but since I dont...

Notre Dame will face Washington State in San Antonio on Oct. 31, 2009.
The game at the Alamodome will be the first of annual offsite games Notre Dame plans to play to try to make its contests more accessible to fans around the country.

The school announced on Thursday that it would play games in which it would be considered the home team at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., in 2011 and 2014. No opponents have been announced

Lose a home game but I guess it's kind of interesting.

I think it sounds like a cool idea. ND fans come from all over, it's not like they're isolated to Indiana so it would be cool. I always look at ND as like a roaming team anyway because they play coast to coast. Not many teams have had classic games with all USC, Texas, Michigan and Miami.

We did last year and it wasnt pretty :hide:

That LSU team was crazy good. The Gators and LSU Tigers peaked at the right time. I would love to see ND play Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Tenn, South Carolina, or Florida. I just think it would make for a good game

ND has had some games w/ Tenn recently. I could see UF being big because of the Meyer connection and Weis being the 2nd choice. Dont really see it happening any time soon, but it'd be a fun game to watch w/ a lot of build up.

Are you kidding me??? If Notre Dame played in the SEC they would EASILY lose 6 games every year (im counting losses to ooc USC & Michigan and in conference they would lose to LSU (we just saw that), Florida, Tennessee (UT whooped ND twice in 2 years) and Auburn.

Notre Dame is the most overhyped program EVER. They routinely lose at least 3 games a year and yet somehow they magically make it to the BCS where they get their ***** handed to them year in and year out.

Notre Dame should be especially bad this year...and IM LOVING IT!!!

**** you Lou Holtz!!!! :beer1:

Notre Dame beat Tenn in 04 and in 2005 so what games are you talking about with Tenn whooping ND?

If ND is overrated blame your coach, him and all the others keep ranking them so high. They dont rank themselves.

Also, he isnt talking about ND joining the SEC, he is talking about SEC teams playing ND in an out of conference matchup.

And ND will struggle this year but that happens when a lot of your players graduate and you're making up for the recruiting failures of a past regime. Not like Miami has a ton of room to talk though lets be honest here.

Notre Dame / Alabama would be awesome. They have had some stiff history. I'd love to see a USC/Alabama/Notre Dame 3-way rivalry.
