all this hoopla about matt ryan is most likely just a ploy to get trades from atlanta or perhaps elsewhere... i know many ppl already have been saying this but i just want to let everyone know that if the dolphins draft ryan on draft day do not be surprised... and do not jump to conclusions and get all worked up.. i think the fins WILL draft ryan as a last ditch effort to trade with atl.. the chargers drafted eli manning even tho eli came out and said he did not want to play for them, but they still did it anyway because they knew the giants were busting a nut over him.. now im not saying ryan is the same level of prospect as eli, but this draft is limited in qbs and ryan is about the only almost safe choice.. now possibitlies if this happens... best case: we trade with atl for d.hall and get the 3rd pick. with the 3rd pick hopefully we can still get chris long, but if he is gone there is no question jake long will not be a much needed asset to this team.. and if in the worst case we still get stuck with ryan, it wont be THAT bad cuz we still need a franchise qb and he might just maybe fit that bill

:jimmyjames: I've heard it all before, I don't want Matt, I want Beck, I want a Long. Fill the check list, Bill is not going to pass up two talented guys who play the big boy positions. Bill likes those guys in the trench and I doubt he will give up his chance at an Offensive or Defensive linemen like the Long's.

I also think you have to go with either Chris or Jake Long. I don't think we can pass up a need like those two guys to try to bait a trade. I would be very disappointed if we drafted Ryan. I don't think he's worth the pick.

i completely agree with both of you... im just saying do not get upset when and if they draft ryan.. because its def a possibility with all the stuff tuna has been putting out there about being interested in ryan

I'm one of those that doesn't feel Ryan should be our pick, but if he happens to be, I'm gonna give the FO the benefit of the doubt...

Mostly... :oldman:

I dont think ATL wants to draft Ryan. I believe they think there may be better value in icking a QB in the 2nd round. Its not like they are a QB away from being playoff contenders. Last time I checked they still had a horrible defense.

This franchise has been totally void of talent at QB for over a decade now, and we've been long overdue for a young / potential franchise type QB. That stated / taken into consideration, I think there is a very strong possibility that we end up drafting QB Matt Ryan.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

So you think we'll draft someone we don't really want, just in case Atlanta wants trade for him ?? I don't get this....

This makes no sense to me...sorry...

finally, ur coming around to some common sense. Matt Ryan, next MIA QB!

That situation was very different Eli and Archie made it very clear they didn't want to play for SanDiego.

I'd Pass On Ryan!!

I personally think Matt Ryan is in the same boat as the 2005 NFL Draft when Alex Smith was the best QB available, but not a franchise QB like a Carson Palmer.Since the NFL is low if not void on young developing quarterbacks, QBS stock like Smith and Ryan soar. I don't think Matt Ryan will be anymore than what the system he is in will give him, an advantage to be more than a mediocre QB. Alex Smith up to this point has been nothing special if not injury proned! I personally would pass on the Ryan regime. I'd rather take a chance on Flacco in the 2nd to back up Beck, and not waste another pick on a potential mediocre QB!!!

Okay so we draft Ryan and then nobody wants to trade then what ? Let's worry about OUR needs before worrying about other teams needs.

lets say we do draft Ryan and keep him and he turns out to be a huge bust....what then huh? what will all you guys hung on his jock say then? i say lets finish building our line so our QB has protection, and at the same time, that gives Beck a chance to show what he can do.

Hey here is a cute idea lets get through Matt Ryans pro day before we jump to far to any conclusion. I certainly do not think Miami needs 2 rookie QB (Beck being the other one) this year. If we draft Ryan then Beck will not get the snaps needed to see if he is any good. Next year is our year for a new rookie QB is Beck cannot meet the challenge. Right now I do not think Beck can get the job done but we need to give him the chance first to find out. If I am Parcells I only pick Ryan if I "stongly" feel Beck is incapble of getting the job done and feel stongly the Matt Ryan is capable of getting the job done. No problem of a big smoke screen with Atlanta fro setting up a trade but right now with them resigning J Harrington as well as the other signed veteran QB's on their team along with them closely follwoing the other rookie QBs in the draft they appear to be of the mind set of settling for a lower tierd QB other than Ryan. Maybe they have their trade all set up with Dallas and are already figuring on trading down into the first round when Dalls moves up for Mcfadden. If that is the case and Parcells figures it out then all he can do is pick Mcfadden and take whatever the Cowboys are willing to give. Of course maybe the Raiders would be willing to trade. AL Davis like to make a splash and the MCfadden Russel combination would be appealing. Mcfadden from ARK would have some local apeal too. Parcels does have his hands full if he is to trade this 1st round pick.
