Now that I think about it, I really wish the rumors about Huizenga selling the team would be true. I just don't think Huizenga is cut out to be a good owner.

Other team owners are able to put a team together by finding the diamonds in the rough type of head coaches. Teams like the Bengals, Bears, Patriots and, yes I hate to say it, the stinkin Jets. Their able to find coaches like Marvin Lewis, Bill Belicheck, Lovie Smith, Eric Mangini....While we're over here stuck with the Dave Wanstetd's, the Chain Gailey's and Jim Mora's....

Huizenga says he will pay whatever it takes to find the right coach, but sometimes, it's not all about the money. It's about having the ability to evaluate talent and knowing what to look for in your front office. I just don;t think Huiznega has that ability. I have a feeling he's just a rich guy who believes money can buy talent.

I believe he is another owner like Mr. Ford from the Lions. Just doesn't know what he is doing at times and he continues to keep Millen around. Heck, if it wasn't for Wanny resigning as head coach, who knows how much longer he would've been here. He had just signed Wanny to an extension.

I hope Mr. Huizenga really considers, or re-considers for that matter, selling the team. I just think it all starts from the top.

I'm not quite certain why Mora or any of the other finalists would bring you to say that Wayne has no clue what he's doing and should sell the team - we're looking for the right guy, and there's nothing in any manual or rulebook that says he can't have head coaching experience elsewhere.

Wayne doesn't know football, and the guys that he surrounds himself with in order to help make those football decisions, are highly incompetent in my opinion.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Because, if the finalists Huizenga chooses are not extremely young (32-34) NFL assistants, with only a year or so expereince as a coordinator, isn't it blatantly obvious Wayne has no clue? (tongue in cheek)

Considering the ecstatic celebrations that accompanied Saban's hiring, I'm pretty relieved that Wayne's current approach is causing unrest. If you start listening to your fans, you'll wind up sitting next to them. Or so they say.

Wow, just wow.

Wayne ponies up millions to bring in what we all thought was a good coach. Gives him carte blanche as far as traing facility and coaching staff. Makes Capers (a great defensive mind) the highest paid assistant in the league. Now you question whether Wayne should own the team. You have the nerve to compare him to the Lions ownership? He signed Wanny to an extension so as to not have Wanny be a lame duck coach. It was his position to let the team know Wayne was behind his head coach. I firmly believe Wanny was gone after the '04 season anyway. Wayne just held on to Wanny because Saban turned us down after the '03 season. Tell you what. We better be thankful of his ownership and the fact he finances all the upgrades himself and doesn't threaten to move out (ala Saints) I bet you would be glad if we had Tom Benson. Look what he's done.:shakeno:

See, this is what I'm talking about.....

Mon, 15 Jan 2007 17:30:07 -0800

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets have released a statement about offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer withdrawing his name from consideration for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy. Schottenheimer said, "I have withdrawn my name from consideration for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy. I want to thank Mr. Wayne Huizenga and the Dolphins' organization for expressing an interest." Head coach Eric Mangini said, "Brian's creative approach on offense was an integral part of our progress in the 2006 season, and I'm pleased he will remain with the Jets to build on that progress."

The Steelers should know what to look for. They hired Cowher years ago. They made a good decision in hiring Cowher. Huizenga should consider that and look at some of their finalist for the HC position and interview them as well. But No, we're over here interviewing Mora and Gailey....2 previous head coaches that failed.

I have to admit, I don't like how we're going about this either.
It seems backwards to me. We seem to be forcing a team, and ready made coaching staff, coaching philosophy etc. on an incoming coach. As far as I'm concerned, this way of doing things, scares away the strong coaching candidates and invites the weak desparate ones.
This new head coach better walk tall. With all the chiefs we have near the top of our coaching staff, in the form of coordinators/former head coaches, I can envision a cluster-f**ck of egos, spoiling the brew.

Go download Mora's interview that got him fired where Mora talks about loving Washington and wishing he could go back there to coach and if he'd have the opp he'd go in a heartbeat. Then check your certainty.

I'm with the thread starter. I no longer have any faith whatsoever in Wayne Huizenga.

All I can say is W-O-W !!

ALL of those choices were NOT EVEN CLOSE to being 'diamonds in the rough'

As a matter of fact ... though memory might not serve me correctly -- Mangini was on our radar 2 years ago for our coordinator position ...

Too bad you can't download a sense of humour.

Cowher recommended Gailey to the Steelers as who they should hire.

Waynes way of assembling a winner is to throw lots of money at it and buy it! That philosophy doesn't work anywhere. Wayne needs to have a 'builders' philosophy, not a 'buyers'!

Damn shame too because you lack one aswell. The above is neither witty nor funny but you get credit for effort. By the way, its obvious you haven't heard the interview because the interview beyond a reasonble doubt shows the guy wasn't even semi joking. Not even like close where you might say well it's kinda like a sarcastic tone. No buddy, the interview is as clear as your ignorance which is to say crystal.
