Colts | League Will not Fine Thornton
Sat, 15 Oct 2005 08:36:36 -0700

Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports after further review, the NFL determined Indianapolis Colts LB David Thornton's hit on San Francisco 49ers QB Alex Smith was not a fineable offense. Thornton drew a 15-yard penalty for helmet-to-helmet contact. Head coach Tony Dungy contended Thornton's hit was legal and should not have drawn a flag, let alone a fine. Thornton, though, was concerned about repercussions.

They won't fine him, but yet they fine McMike. :fire:

I can't figure out how TeBucky Jones was fined $5000 was a facemask that was NOTHING, and Thorton gets nothing after a helmet to helmet hit on Alex Smith.

It's because the NFL is very clueless at times.

 It seems they've been very clueless about to who to fine, but they don't seem to have any trouble slapping fines on our players.
