NT Paul Soliai will be allowed to walk

This really sucks, I hate to see a guy finally become worthy of starting and becoming an all star and we decide to let him walk. I dont love the idea of the 4-3 esp since we have spent so much time, money and draft picks on the personnel for a 3-4. back to rebuilding alllll over again...smfh if something isnt broke dont fix it!! bring a 3-4 DC and keep the D in tact. Even if we can keep Soliai trade his fat monkey behind and get a 1st rd pick....Starks can go back to NT and allow Odrick and Langfor to man the DE positon.

There you go again thorwing stats out there and trying to prove a point.

Ngata and Wilfork both play on passing downs. They even play in the 4-3 looks, Solai doesnt. So your "stats" have zero importance to this argument.

And neither player plays exclusively as a NT i.e taking on 2 blockers every play. Comparing apples to oranges

Ngata even plays end on occasions with Cody manning the middle. Soliai and Ngata are two totally different talents.
 
I really surprised not to have seen this with the other posts: why not tag and trade him for 2nd or 3rd round instead of letting him walk?

There was a thread about this a few weeks ago

It was pointed out that the danger is that Solai simply signs the tag (big guaranteed money for another year) and refuses the trade. Not disastrous but clearly more money than the Dolphins want to pay him

If that happens, then he can get cut. When you tag someone, there's no signing bonus attached to it.
