Is NCST really a better job than BC? Hopefully this hurt BC though, they are back on NDs schedule now :)

I liked what he did at BC. Thought they were about to move up the ladder but I guess money talks.

Oh well..they wanted Norm Chow but he pulled his name from the search. I guess he realized Vince Young can win him some pretty pennies in Tennessee.

That shocks me, BC is a much better job then NCST, I just don't get it.

Although, BC has been hurt with recruiting moving to the ACC, they are not getting the NY,NJ kids like they did, and they are never on TV in this area anymore.

o'brien publicly stated several times how he hated BC's move to the ACC. i think this has a lot to do with it. the school just doesn't make sense in the ACC.

Yep, they use to win tons of prized recruits from my area in NJ (Toal being one of them), now you don't even see the kids in this area mention BC as one of the schools they are interested in, in fact where you use to see BC's name, you now see Rutgers name.

BC moving to the ACC was a huge help to Rutgers, kids who wanted to stay local and be on TV would go to BC, now they go to Rutgers. Rutgers had every game on either ESPN or local TV this year.

NCST is a better gig than BC. Theres tons of stud recruits in VA/NC/SC and now that the Fl market is opened up. O'Brien is a good coach and i expect to see some great things out of Raleigh if he does go there

as an NC State grad, this is a great hire for this program. I never saw the football coach at NC State being that great of a job but maybe he can put some butts in the seats at Cater-finley and win some ACC championships. should be interesting when they play BC.

It never made sense for BC to leave the Big East for the ACC. Their closest conference rival is now Maryland. Not only can it destroy their football program, they will lose out in hoops too. There used to be great basketball rivalries with Providence, UCONN, Syracuse, and the NY / NJ teams as well. Now their fans have to travel to Tobacco Road for big games. It was a terrible decision all based on thinking Miami is a rival from the Doug Flutie completion in 1984! In football they beat Miami once since that game and lost this year to a 6-6 Hurricane squad.

I didn't read much about him being upset about moving to the ACC (but I wasn't really paying attention). It must have been the ACC thing, because it seems like at lateral move at best IMO.

NC State lost to a 5-7 Zips squad.

I guess that's probably true. I was looking more at where the programs have been.
