The o-line as a unit was the most improved unit this year. That being said, it will have a few new players next year. Most people here want the big names FA, like Hutchinson and LeCharles Bentley, here but although we have the cap room I see Saban spending the beig money on other positions. From what we have seen so far this year it is safe to especulate that the LT and C positions (although McKinney played much better this year) are areas that needed improvement. McKinney got hurt and is a FA next year. Hadnot play at center has not been too bad. I believe that he is better suited for that position because he is a vocal leader, will not get pushed back, and at C his false starts penalties will be eliminated. Now if he stays at center then we need a RG who would come in and take his place. Here are 5 FA names that might be signed for a reasonable amount of money:

1. Toniu Fonoti (25 years old, 6'4, 360). He is out for the year with a groin injury, and has had severe weight issues. But when healthy and his weight down, this guy is a beast. He is a UFA, and Coach H knows him very well.
2. Jonathan Goodwin (27 years old, 6'3 320). He is a UFA from the Jets and can play LG, C, and RG.
3. Kris Dielman (24 years old, 6'4, 310). Although he is a RFA, coach H knows him well and word is that he likes him a lot. The Phins mat try to snatch him from the Chargers.
4. Reggie Wells (25 years old, 6'4 320). He is also a RFA, but as a 2 year started at Arizona he will be another G that the Dolphins may target.
5.Terrence Metcalf (27 years old, 6'3 320). This 3rd draft pick in 2002, has been a started for 2 years and although he has has some injuries when healthy his play has been pretty good.

The tacke position is one that I believe it will be addressed in the draft. Anthony Alabi has been mentioned as a starter next year, but due to the fact that he has not been healthy all this season they will bring another young LT to challenge him for the LT spot. Here are 5 posible candidates that may slide to the second rd:

1. Jeremy Trueblood (6'8, 325 lbs) from Boston college.
2. Eric Winston (6'7, 320 lbs) from University of Miami.
3. Marcus McNeill (6'9, 340 lbs) can play LT and RT, from Auburn.
4. Andrew Whitworth (6'7, 325 lbs) could move to RT, from LSU.
5. Derryn Colledge (6'5, 305 lbs) a lil. undersized but plays strong, Boise St.

Whitworth and Winston are two very good LTs that I believe would be a steal in the 2nd round. Very good post PHINSfan...Dielman and Wells are two guys I thought of after Hutchinson and Bentley.

Winston is a very strong guy...I think he should atleast look at him

Thanks! and yes any of these 2 guys can come here a lot cheaper than Hutch and LeCharles and be an upgrade to what we have now at RG.

Eslinger maybe??

Eslinger is a top college center but I believe that coach H will keep Hadnot at C. Ramember this past year Hadnot had 9 false starts....yes 9!!! At center those would be eliminated.

Good stuff there, Phinsfan. Most of these guys are under the radar. Ill look out for them now. Thanks, man.

Marcus Mcneil...thats the rookie coming out of Auburn..and of course Fonoti should be considered because he is the man

If we got McNeill and put him at LT (or RT with Carey at LT) and Fonoti and put him at RG, this would be the line:

LT -- Carey
LG -- James
C -- Hadnot
RG -- Fonoti
RT -- McNeill

That's pretty damn strong. And it's a lot like the one Linehan in Minnesota in 2003 when he had the #1 ranked offense in the league.

I wouldn't mind seeing Fonoti in a fins uniform. Houck has the inside track on him i would think.

I wanted to trade for Fonotu. He went to Minny for a 6th I think. IMO that trade was a steal. I know he has injury problems but the guy was a flat out animal when healthy. If Minny doesn't re-sign him then I hope he pick him up. That would give us a young aggressive guard and let us move Hadnot to center. How hard is it to recover from a severely strained groin?

It's not an easy injury, but it's quite possible. If anybody can make him what he once was it's Fonoti. Wow what a huge OL that would be...

Its also possible that Miami has Scott from Texas, and Justice from USC available.

While outside of D'Brickashaw, you could argue the remaining order of Top OL prospects:

McNeil been battling lower back injuries. He is a very big boy, and lower back is a scary area for OL guys.

Strengths:
A massive mountain of a man who is an imposing physical presence...Has a large frame with long arms, big hands and a wide base...Tremendous athlete for his size and has great feet...Moves laterally extremely well and is tough to get around...Does a good job getting to the second level of defenders...Good playing strength...Smart player with top intangibles who wants to get better...All-around player who is a major factor as both a run blocker and pass protector.

Weaknesses:
Will play too upright at times due to his height...Has some medical issues with his back and neck that will have to be cleared...Will get caught leaning...May lack a nasty demeanor and killer instinct...Will get lazy and lose concentration at times...Needs to refine and become more consistent with his technique...Is not as explosive as you would expect a guy with his dimensions to be.
